12 days in Vegas

Some of the best buffets (and I only can talk for the breakfasts as it's the only time I use them) are at the "local places." Strong efforts from South Point to the M. Check 'em out.

Speaking of which, if you're staying for 12 days...move around a bit and sample more. If you like the Palms, you'll really like the M. Great rooms, terrific buffet, almost annoying cocktail service (they come by so often) and though the only full pay VP is 8/5 BP, the rest of the casino is on par with pretty much everyone else.

Interestingly, your take on Ballys was a surprise to me. I usually stay at Ballys, but to be honest, I'm a Diamond member and am always put on the Diamond floors in the North Tower. Those rooms are very nice. I've never stayed in any of the other rooms. I like it because of the comp rooms and location, location, location.

Agree that you SHOULD spend a couple of nights downtown. Try either the Golden Nugget or I understand the new rooms at the D have been improved. The D has also become the "hip" place to be downtown. I tend to stay at Main Street Station because of the comp rooms and it's away from the Freemont Experience noise, but I love playing there and the buffet is a cut above to say nothing of the best micro-brews at the 777 restaurant and main bar. Many on this board have also mentioned the El Cortez, recently remodled rooms are very nice...though...I don't know... Recent word is that the recently remodeled Plaza has already been neglected and should be avoided.

You might also consider spending a couple of nights in Henderson. Sam's Town (so-so-rooms), Sunset Station, Boulder Station, Arizona Charlies (and even interesting to visit old town Henderson and their old-school casinos).

Have fun on your next trip!

Well thank you, JMan for that. I like to call things as I see them and help people get good information. So it really all depends on what someone is looking for since this site basically specializes in helping people to get more value for their money.

As for Plaza, I don't know about it being neglected. I was there from 3/11-3/13 and I didn't see anything that appeared to be neglected.
