First time writing a trip report, but here it goes. Me and wife stayed three days at the Paris from March 11th thru the 14th . Had a comped room, but we opted for an upgrade to a Jacuzzi suite for $ 50.00 a night. I think it was worth it, loved the Jacuzzi suite for rejuvenating for a second round in the casinos.
Trip started off kind of bad, we were supposed to fly out of Houston at 1:15PM, but due to heavy rain and thunderstorms we were delayed till 5:00PM. But after we got there the rest of the trip was GREAT. We always have a fun time on our Las Vegas trips as long as the service and employees we encounter our nice, which they have always been at the Paris. I look at this way if we were treated good even though we may loose some money it’s a good trip. If we are treated good and break even, it’s a great trip. If we are treated good and win money it’s a FANTASTIC trip, which this was.
DAY 1: We were tired our first day with the delay and all, so we started off gambling kind of small. We also walked up the strip a ways and had a few drinks along the way. About 11:30PM we went to Bill’s and had the $ 6.99 steak and eggs. I thought it was good for the price, the service was fast and excellent, although my wife was not impressed with the food, but she has a more discerning pallet then I. We decided to go in early and were walking through Bally’s when my wife needed to use the restroom. She said she could wait till we got back to the room, but I talked her in to stopping at the restrooms by the south tower elevators (Thank God). While she was busy, I put $ 60.00 into a dollar Double Double bonus video poker machine and two hands later hit four 5’s for $ 250. Two hands after that I hit four 4’s (without kicker) for $ 400.00. My wife comes out of restroom and tells me to cash out, I tell her just a few more hands. That’s all it took, just a few more hands (about 5) and I hit four 2’s with a 3 kicker for $ 800.00. I played a little longer then chased out at $ 1500.00. We went and put in $ 60.00 in a dollar Wheel of Fortune Machine at Bally’s and hit the $ 1.000 spin. Played a little longer and cashed out at $ 1300. Walked back to the Paris and put a $ 100 in Double Double Bonus machine and hit a small four of a kind and cashed out at $ 200.00.
Day 2: was uneventful, I could not hit anything, but the wife did cash out for a couple of hundred dollars on quarter video poker machines a few times. Although I am a Wal-Mart kind of guy, my wife likes the high end items so we went shopping for what seemed like the rest of the day and spent a lot of the money we won. I guess its better to buy things with your winning then give it back to the casino. Well this is where the Jacuzzi tub played dividends. Guys or should I say married guys you know how exhausting it can be to go shopping with the wife all day long. Usually she goes by herself, but she always asks me to go with her so sometimes you got to do what your sweetheart wants, as she does the same for me.
Day3: Went downtown and played in the four Queens, Plaza and Golden Nugget, no big hits here. I placed two sports bets for the day, one was a three team pro basketball parley I bet $ 50 and hit it for $ 300. The other bet I took the Rockets over the Thunder on the $ 600 money line. I bet $ 50 and the Rockets pulled it off 104 to 103, so I picked up another $ 300.
Wasn’t doing to good on Machines, but my wife kept us in with small $ 200 hits here and there.
Day4: Time to come home, but flight was not till 8:05PM. Checked the bags and did some last minute shopping for family. I went back to the same video poker machine I won on the first day and put in $ 60 and hit four 4’s with a 2 kicker for another $ 800.
Trip was great, already missing Las Vegas. Hopefully we will get to return around July.
