Left Chicago Midway on the 8:10 am flight. The plane came in early so they started boarding early and we left 10 minutes ahead of schedule and arrive 10 minutes early. Got our bags and off to the car rental facility. This is the first time I used the monitor and wouldn't you know our name is not there! Had to wait in line and go through the whole process of license, credit card and signing. The gal had about 20 reservations that still had to go on the board; of course only one person working there. We were to get a full size for 8 days for $182.35 when we go to the guy to get the car he asks if we want a premium for the same price. Well we get a Grand Victoria and all I have to say is that is the most uncomfortable car ever. Live and learn.
We have reservations at Silverton for 2 nights from the contest I won on their website. Since it's not even 11:00 clock yet we call my youngest son, Joe who is out there for the Sema convention. He is staying in a condo right next to SouthPoint so we decide to go there and catch up with him. My youngest is not a gambler and it was funny when he showed me a picture of an $80.00 tito. He said once he won that he was done! lol. We took Joe to Silverton to see if we could check in and the guys wanted to go to Bass Pro Shop. Joe had never seen the fish tank there so that was a first for him, plus it was feeding time. Still too early to check in so everyone is hungry & we go to the cafe for lunch. They still have the best food there! We finally get our room 4004. We take Joe back to the SouthPoint as he's hooking up with his friends there and we head back to bring our stuff into the room. We get settled and just take out the clothes we will need for the next couple of days and head to the Mirage. We have tickets to see Terry Fator that night. While there the boothling wants to know if I want to get my Tournament of Kings tickets right away. Sure why not one less line to stand in.
Terry Fator was great! The DJ that warms up the audience before the show has so much energy and he keeps everything rolling. We had seats in the upper balcony, third row from the back and they were great seats. They have 2 big screen monitors that really get up close and personal to Terry. My hubby said he would actually like to see the show again.
Played at Mirage a little and got my MLife card and also got my passes for the Secret Garden that I used my points from MyVegas for. Back to the Silverton to start playing. Couldn't do anything on poker so switched to pennies and that kept me going. The best I did all day was 4oak 9's at SP.
Sunday we went back to the SP to place some football bets for my son back home. Went to Walmart for snacks for the week. Not sure what else we did that day.
Monday is moving day to the Flamingo. We check out and head out to Red Rock where we are having lunch with my childhood BFF and her husband who I went to school with. He's a pit boss on the graveyard shift at RR. Had a really good lunch at the buffet. Actually used one of my MRB coupons. Left there to check in at Flamingo. The lines were so long when I saw the door for Diamond AND Platinum check in. Sweet, since I lost my diamond status I thought I'd be standing in line. Got room 28082 a Fab Luxury with a strip view but twin beds. We are directly across from Caesars. The view was great but it's surprising all the outside noise you hear.
Once we checked in we decided to check out Aria and Cosmo. All I know is I can't do all that walking anymore. Does not make for a pleasant experience.
Tuesday we went to Aliante and signed up for a players card. Saw Sue Casey and introduced myself. I got 9x's points for the day. We played for a really long time. Got aces with a kicker and a few hands later 4 jacks.
Hubby was doing good too. We both left there up. Decided to go to SamsTown and get on their radar again.
Played there a long time but no big wins or losses. Had to go back to SP to pick up son's winnings from the football games and had dinner at the DelMar deli. Used the coupon from bboyer. I had the corned beef and was very disappointed.....very fatty. Hot dog cart was closed. Back to Flamingo and a losing session.
Wednesday we went to Pahrump to meet my co-worker for lunch and gambling. Had a good lunch at the Golden Harvest cafe at the Nugget. After lunch we played at both the Nugget and T Town (formerly Terrible's) where I cashed out a penny machine called Amazon for $159.00.
We dropped Lori off at home and headed back to Aliante. We both had really good sessions there.
We were getting hungry so went to Silverton for breakfast. Played there a little then headed back to the strip. Got back to the room and we were both up over $400.00 each for the day.
Thursday we went to the Secret Gardens at Mirage. They are doing renovations so some of the areas are closed but we got really up close with the dolphins...so much so that we got pretty soaked. All this week I had been taking pictures with my camera when the batteries die at the Garden. I was able to get batteries there and the camara was good to go. But somehow I lost all my old pictures and my new ones. I had some really great shots of the dolphins and I'm really po'd about losing them. Any photos you see will be from my phone. We head back to the Flamingo to gamble a little more then off to Excalibur for T of K. They've jazzed up the girls costumes and added some new pyrotechnics but the show is getting old. The fact that the place wasn't even half filled speaks volumes.
Friday it's off the the Atomic Energy Museum. That is a really interesting place. I was very surprised by how crowded it was when we were there. There are alot of interesting artifacts there. We used a Groupon coupon and it was worth every penny. Went back to the room and got ready for dinner. I had made reservations at the Range at Harrah's. Good thing we went there as the Range was closing that Sunday to make way for Ruth's Chris steak house. Had a great meal made even better by using points. Before dinner we stopped in and caught Big Elvis. His voice is still good but it looks like he has put back on some of the weight he lost. After his show we went to play a little poker before dinner. I was dealt a straight flush for the second time this trip.
Went back to the room and chilled for the rest of the night.
Saturday our last day. All my days were comped except for the last day so I jut paid that with points. We leave and head out to SouthPoint. Terry(tonystewartrules) was already in the building so I made contact with him. I was playing my first Quick Quads game of the trip when I got 4 3's just as Terry was coming over.
We talked for a bit then my hubby shows up and I introduce them. We all go our own ways to play some more. We have lunch in the Cafe using points then play just a little longer before it's time to head back to the airport. I found a new Wicked Witches game that I was having a blast on.
Just an FYI if you collect alot of change that you don't want to take home SouthPoint has a change machine in the aisle heading towards the gift shop. I wish I had known that before we left.....i brought home over $25.00 in change!
Car return was easy and security at the airport was quick. Our flight left on time and we had a great crew that was based out of Chicago that kept the energy level high. We also had a young couple with 2 children that were the most well behaved kids I have ever seen. Never raised there voices and were just watching their little dvd players and having fun. I told the Mom that it was a pleasure flying with them and I would do it again. The little girl was Kayla and she was a hoot!
After getting off the plane we got our luggage & car and were home by 1:00 am. Thanks for reading! Sorry it was so long but I'm out of practice on tr's.
We came home with over half of our bankroll intact that when SW had their 40% off sale I went ahead and booked another trip. Not sure now if we will use it at the end of January as things have taken a turn at my job. My job is safe but all the overtime we were doing may be gone.
