9/5-9/9 trip report

Checked into the Aria for 4 nights, corner suite. We checked in around 3:45 and it only took about 5 minutes total. The room was outstanding, and thanks to the tips from other past reports we made sure not to touch anything in the minibar, but they did provide an additional refrigerator in the room. electronics in the room didn't take long to figure out. Their concierge was friendly and very helpful Went to a few buffets during the stay- Bellagio (very good), Palms, (pretty bad). Breakfast at Hash House a go go on Sahara, good food and massive portions. Lunch at Ellis Island, a very good deal and good food as well. Went for a late night dinner after a show to the Peppermill Inn followed by drinks at their lounge, also very good. The Inn had a surprisingly quiet atmosphere which was a nice respite from the strip commotion. Saw Jersey Boys ( fabulous) and "O" (wow), visited Fremont Street, Strat tower, Hoover Dam and a few other touristy things.

Final impressions-Loved the trip, Vegas shows can't be beat, Fremont Casinos have better odds than the strip but are very smoky, Ellis Island is a great place to gamble and eat, Caesars has the best spa, the day pass at aria for the spa facilities is worth it for relaxation, and I want to go back tomorrow.
Wow, that was the most succinct trip report I've ever read! You packed a lot into your 4 nights! I'm curious as to your gambling experiences?
Thanks for posting that brief and succinct report!

And yes, the Fremont Street Casinos are generally known for much better rules/paybacks and machine pay schedules than the Strip casinos. And as for the "smokiness" factor, I'd say that some Downtown casinos are better than others for that issue.

For blackjack I liked playing at Ellis Island and Golden Nugget, but I'm not much of a gambler so I didn't play enough video poker to qualify as an expert, but it looked like most of the really good 9/6 machines are gone. The Palms has okay vp machines, but I didn't do so well. The biggest surprise was I used the coupon in the ACG for $25 freeplay at the Palazzo while we waited for Jersey Boys. Won $70 in a slot machine which paid for after show visit to the Peppermill.

For lower end denomination Blackjack play in the Strip area, I think that your best bet may very well be at Terrible's (where there are some good LVA coupons anyway). For Blackjack in Downtown LV I'd say El Cortez has some decent games.

As for where decent Video Poker is, I'd recommend that you check out at least https://www.vpfree2.com if not https://www.vpinsider.com (although that is a pay site). And Palms does have some not bad Video Poker (at least for the time being).

Thanks for the report. I also loved "O" when we were there in April. We paid for front row seats, however, and although the view was great, we did get wet. At one part, we actually got rained on!!
