Well Catherine covered our AC trip pretty well, but I'll fill in a little.
We left on our annual (our 4th trip) trip for the year-end ECLVA meet at about 10:00am. Glad things cleared up on the East Coast as we didn't know if we would make it there. We did get a little deicing before we left. We got to Harrah's right about 12:00. We were informed that we would not be leaving until 6:45 on Thursday. Usually we leave between 3:45 and 4:45.
We left with Catherine to go to Borgata to meet the group. I was happy to find out that I still had $35 comp left from our trip in June. We were able to get the buffet for $20 for 2 using comp. We had a great time with the group and a nice meal. We headed to Bally's with Todd where we were having the MPT.
Hubby & I played for awhile on the TP BP quarter machines. I lost $60 in about a half hour and then called Bob (Rowanbob) to meet me to take me to the headquarters of the MPT. Todd met me and took me to the poker parlor. Ok the hotel room! We drank and socialized for awhile and then got on to business. I am still pretty new with all this live poker stuff and was determined to play strong this time. I hung in there for quite some time. Actually, I was leading at our first break. Wake me up please! We had 2 beds going ours and the other 5. After the break, we had 1 bed. I finally met my match with Catherine. She took me out with a SF. Now that's going out in style! Does a SF beat an A? So I headed back downstairs to my hubby and hit those BP machines again.
This was almost 8:00pm. I played for a little while and got 3-royal (don't remember what, I think clubs and forgot a picture) but got a RF on middle line for a $1120 progressive jackpot. I'm used to these machines being handpaid and was waiting not realizing that all I had to do was cash out duh! I took out $1300 and put in another $100. I played on about half hour and held Q, K, A, J D and filled in the middle 10 for my second RF on the top line for $1230. I left at 9:30 to go eat with the group and was up $2415. Don't wake me up.
So we ate at the Bistro and, as Catherine said, it took forever. That steak and eggs special was not the same as the last time I had it after my first ever royal in AC. Catherine took us back to Harrah's where she and Cathy had their pajama party and Dennis and I hit the 9/6 machines. This was just after 12:00 and we played until 2:15. I lost $100 and Dennis $115. This wasn't too bad as we were playing fifty cents and I was working on getting my diamond.
It was a good thing the next morning that they changed breakfast to 12:00 cause I wouldn't have made it lol. We met Catherine and headed over to Showboat for breakfast at the Mansion. Food was good and we had a great time catching up. We hit the machines about 1:30 and played till about 4:00. I lost $335.00 and Dennis $80.
Next up was Bally's again. Lucky to get on to those BP machines as the crowds were building for year end. Nobody was hitting royals today and the progressives were building. I ended up losing only $35 playing from 5:00-7:00. Dennis lost $300. He was having a tough time. A few of us went up to the DL before it closed. We sat in a nice lounge area by a fireplace and drank champagne etc. I checked to see that I only needed 15 more points for diamond so I put a $20 in a machine and got to 11,003. We all chatted for awhile and then went back to Harrah's. Catherine and Cathy, of course, drank more champagne and ,of course, Dennis & I played vp. We played on his card this time. I lost $200 and he lost $100. We went to the room around 2:00.
Thursday morning we had breakfast at Reflections. As Catherine said Eggs Benedict with crab & asparagus was really good. Hugs & kisses to all as everyone was heading out for the big night at Todds. Catherine took us over to Borgata. She & I played for awhile and then said our goodbyes. I had $100 in freeplay and left there with $100. Dennis played even for a couple hours. We actually walked back to Harrah's as the weather was pretty decent and we finally figured out the quick way to get back. It was kinda nice to get some fresh air. We played for awhile at Harrah's and then headed to our buses. Our flight back to Cleveland was great and we arrived at our house about 11:00.
I actually ended this year for the first time ever on the plus side.
I hope to follow others with a great start to 2011.
Happy New Year and Good luck to everyone!
