Day 5 – Tuesday-The Strip/Absinthe
Today starts out much the same, Coffee and Breakfast in the room, Pool, reading, sunning. We are a bit slower getting going this morning and I manage to sleep in until 8:30. Hubby makes is down to the pool to get me close to noon after his run and we are on the shuttle to Harrah’s just after 1:00. I purchased half price monorail tickets on a face book offer and we plan to use them today. This is our first time on the monorail and I enjoyed being able to avoid the crowds on the strip. Stop by Harrah’s free pull machine but we didn’t hit anything. We stop by this machine every chance we get. On our last trip hubby got $25.00 free play, but not this time.
Stop in at Casino Royale for Margarita for me and a beer for hubby and a quick hot dog at the snack bar. Hubby settles in to his favorite machine and I make my way to the roulette table. Buy in and hit one of my numbers right off the bat again, tip the dealer and hit again. I play down again and manage to cash out $65.00 ahead. Two more margaritas and I am ready to wander again find hubby and talk him into trying roulette. We both play, I lose my buy in and hubby manages to cash out only down $10.00 on roulette and up $36.00 from his machine. We walk out with $51.00 of Casino Royale’s money. Back to the monorail and we head to Planet Hollywood to stop at the press your luck game before going to Luxor for dinner. I got a whammy but hubby gets a free drink, we decide to hang on to it, it is good at Caesars and we will use it before the show. Dinner is at Tacos & Tequila at Luxor. I have a $25.00 resturants.com coupon and we had T&T last year and thought they were great. Again dinner was perfect, I got a special running with rolled tacos we shared, my favorite combination plate with cheese enchilada, tamale, and carnitas and we shared a tres leches cake for dessert. Hubby got the same combo without the appetizer and desert. I love this place and service was fantastic. I really appreciate it when you use a coupon and the server takes it in stride and will still provide great service. Per the terms of the Coupon an 18% gratuity was added the check and we left a good amount more. Our server was great and deserved it.
We now had just a couple of hours left before Absinthe so we make our way to MGM, on the monorail and hop off at flamingo. The trip takes only ½ hour and we have lots of time so we head to the Keno area to enjoy the air conditioning and play a few games before the show. Out to the tent; stop off at the bar for drinks and lineup 35 minutes before the show. We thought this was a great show and very entertaining. I am a big fan of Holly Madison and wanted to see Angel when I watched the episode of Holly’s World about Angels audition. I was disappointed with Angel’s act but the rest of the show was great. Back to the monorail and a quick ride to Harrah’s to catch the shuttle back to Wyndham. We almost forgot to put in any play at Harrah’s so we put some play on our cards for the great race promo. Mom is visiting my aunt in northern California and said she would stop off in Reno and play our cards for us.
