Hubby and I took our fall trip in Sept. to do a little college football betting. The week after we got home he said, "want to go back?". I asked when and he said November, I said sure, let me look into flights and see what room comps we have. He said, "not me, just you.". I asked why just me, he said he wanted to bet on more college games and could afford the bankroll for that but not the other gambling that went along with a weekend in Vegas. I've been known to take solo trips every other year or so, so I said sure, pick a weekend with good games and let me know. He chose the 9th so I used SWA points for my flight and had a 2 room north tower comp @ Ballys. Since I was going by myself I decided to indulge myself and make a reservation @ Qua. My first trip but had read good things on the boards.
Before I knew it, it was the 9th. I took the last flight out of Austin, leaving on time @ 6:15 pm, getting to Vegas about 10 min early. I had my iPad and headphones for the plane, planning to read a book on the flight. I ended up sitting next to the most interesting kid, I'll say kid, he was 28 but as I'm pushing 50, he was a kid to me. He was a poker dealer @ Aria, worked the late night shift. He was so interesting and very nice. The flight flew by, no pun intended.
Sean from Presidential was waiting for me. I had carried on since it was such a short trip so within minutes of landing, we were on our way. The platinum checkin line had no wait so I checked in and was off to my room, #1523 in the north tower. I have only stayed @ Ballys once about 6 years ago with my sister and we had a room in the south tower. My room was fine, newer tv, moderately comfy bed but an archaic safe. But hey, it was a safe and it worked.
First stop was the sports book @ Paris, I prefer it to the one in the bowels of Ballys. Hubby had given me 5 bets to make, 2 - 3 game parlays, 1 - 5 game parlay, 1 - 12 game parlay and a money line bet on Texas A&M. I made a 3 card parlay bet for myself and a bet on Oklahoma, then I was off to my favorite $1 triple double wild cherry machine @ Paris. Put $50 in hoping for good things, I always win on this machine....except tonight. I went back to Ballys to say hi to my pit boss friend Andy, then went to a 3 card table where I ended up $100 up when I was done. I was a little hungry so I had a ham and cheese sandwich @ Nosh. Then I decided to play some roulette, when I first graduated from slots years ago I started playing roulette and did well. Since I've begun playing 3 card and let it ride, I haven't played much roulette. Andy was working the roulette area so I talked with him awhile while I played. I always play 20, it's hubby's birthday. I hit it twice in a row, then again spins later and one final time before I left. I had the same luck with 25' it hit twice in a row, then 5 spins later it came up again. I ended up a couple hundred up from that so I went to bed happy.
Saturday is spa day and I was going to brunch @ the new Bacchanal Buffet a few hours before checking in the spa........more tomorrow, I need to go finish making my pies for Thanksgiving. Happy Turkey Day to all you LVA'ers and thanks to you all for posting. More later.
