Anniversary Part 3

I made diamond last year in Sept. so we picked up my $100 dining credit. We had ressies at the Eiffel Tower restaurant for our anniversary lunch. We learned a few things 1) you can't use your hundy credit at Eiffel Tower, they're not owned by Paris, oh well, we wanted to have a nice romantic lunch so no biggie. 2) 12:30 ressies on a Monday, we got a great table, but forgot that the fountains don't go off during the day on week days. Live and learn. It didn't deter us from having a really nice lunch. We started with an appetizer that had lobster and avocado, yum! Hubby had heard good things about the lamb burger so he ordered that and had the chicken with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc. I'll take his word for it that it was good, I'm not a fan of lamb. Mine was very good. They brought us a frozen strawberry souffle for dessert. Everything was great, service, atmosphere, everything. So glad we decided to go there, next time we'll try it at dinner.

So this leaves me with my food credit, expiring March 31 so what to do? Sign up for a bingo tourney at Harrahs on the 29th, make room res for Jubilee tower at Ballys and make dinner ressies for one at
Gordon Ramsey!

I really don't remember much about Monday, we gambled, we lost, we walked around, gambled more, walked around more and lost more. We had dinner at the buffet at Paris. Yuck. I do like their breakfast buffet and this was our first stab at the dinner buffet. Golden Corral in Austin was better. Oh well, we used RC's so no biggie. We went to Ballys to play awhile, the found our pit boss friend and said our goodbyes, telling him that I'd be back solo in March. We went back to the room and packed, Sean was picking us up @ 8:30 am.

Even thought we ended up on the losing end, this was a really good trip. It was nice to see hubby get some nice wins, damn you the cooler we call Harrahs! This was a much needed getaway for us both, hubby lost his dad before Xmas and has been dealing with all that has to be done with insurance, etc. since after the holidays, he needed a trio that we just did what we wanted and didn't have to answer phones or email. My work has been crazy busy, even though it's not really even Spring, you wouldn't know it from my work. It was nice to get away and then return the office to find the new helper I hired waiting at her desk for me. Life has been so much better with help!

Needless to say, hubby out some serious coin in at Caesars properties this trip. He made platinum by the time we checked out Tuesday morning. I'm a little over half way there. With this short weekend trip and another i have planned in May, I imagine I'll be platinum by summer. Not sure if I'll get back to diamond this year, last year I made 6 trips to Vegas and made diamond on the 5th. Right now I only have 4 trips for sure planned. We're not sure we'll get back for college football betting in Sept since we have to go to Michigan for my nieces wedding, it's the weekend we normally go to Vegas. Hubby said "don't people know better than to get married during football season?". I reminded him not everyone watches 14 hours of college football on Saturdays in the Fall like we do! I did remind him that Detroit DOES have casinos.......

Thanks for reading and thanks to all that take the time to post. Next report should be in early April after my bingo madness weekend! And OMG, I just read about the cupcake ATM @ the Llinq, I'll have to stop on my way back to Ballys from the tournament.
TECramer, thanks so much for sharing. Sounds like you had a fun trip. Happy Anniversary!
Glad you enjoyed your trip. FYI if you have a passport hop across the border into Canada and Caesars has a beautiful casino. They also have a great venue for concerts and if something good is coming you can probably get free tickets.
Nice report. Thanks. Did u say cupcake?

Siwst852, the Sept trip is too short for a side to Canada, but the wedding is close to Soaring Eagle and I think we all may be staying there Friday night so that should be fun.
jmradford, YES, cupcake ATM, I read about it on the LVA site. Can't wait to try it!
Thanks for the Finale to your report. Sorry for your ending up losing, it's good that you had a nice anniversary trip, that your husband was able to have a nice trip (my condolences to him on the loss of his father) and that you have some good help now for your work!

And have a great time at the end of the month!

Thanks RecVplayer. Looking forward to next weekend, even though it's a short one and table mins will be higher because of March Madness. If the weather holds up I'll be in heaven!

Although I'm not absolutely sure, you might be able to get away from higher table mins by possibly going to Downtown LV to play.

Enjoyed all three installments of your trip report.

Consider doing the 2500 tier ponits in one day, which will give you a bonus 5000 tier and put you over the threshold for Diamond. In the long run...worth it.

Would have liked to know how much that meal came to at the Wynn. One thing is for sure...you eat well when hit your Vegas trips. Nothing like fine dining in sin city.

Thank you!
RecVPPlayer, that's a good idea. If I get an early session for bingo I could run downtown and make it back for my 7:30 ressie at Gorson Ramsay Steak.

Jon, dinner at Wynn was about $220 before tip and was worth every penny. We do always try to have one splurge dinner each trip, especially for our anniversary since we got married out there at the Little Chapel of the Flowers. We do have a goofy ritual for the time between one anniversary trip to the next. We dump our change into a jar every day then cash it in before we leave. We call this our food and cab fund. That way our meals don't cut into our bankroll.

I did the 2500 TC's in September and it made me diamond for 2014. I plan to try to do it again if I can this trip, if not I'll be back in May on some offer I got from CET for the race for the roses and will be there a little longer.
