We had decided in the Country Club Grill at Wynn for our anniversary dinner. We had 7:30 ressies so we head over by cab at 6:30 to wander around some. We hopped in a cab at Ballys (more line cuts at the taxi stand for diamond.....really? Ok, don't mind if we do.). We told the cabbie he could go the back way, we didn't need to go the strip. He dropped us off at the Tower suite entrance, what s pretty area. We wandered around a bit, playing dollar machines before dinner. We wanted to find the $5 top dollar machines so I saw a slot host wandering around and he took us to them, we didn't play them at that time, it was time for dinner. We were seated by a window with a pretty good view of the waterfall. All the trees lit up made it a very nice setting. Our servers name was Merrie and she was fantastic. She welcomed us, said happy anniversary, then made menu recommendations. We started with the crab cake, it was very good. I had the sweet corn chowder, had it been polite I would have licked the bowl. Hubby had the Caesar, said it was good but he says his Vegas caesar us at the coffee shop at Paris. In had the filet, medium and he had the bison ribeye, medium rare. Both were prepared perfectly. Mine was very good but the bison was excellent. I prefer my meat cooked a little more, but the bison was so good I think I could order it medium rare no problem. Our sides were whipped potatoes and sautéed shrooms. We should have stopped at the potatoes, they were creamy and rich. The shrooms were good but we really didn't need any more food! I had a nice Zin with my meal, hubby is an iced tea man. Just when we were sufficiently stuffed, Merrie brings us some sort of apple cobbler with ice cream, and coffee for me. We were so pleased with the service and the food, we will be back for sure. I'd like to try their Sunday jazz brunch on hubby and I's next trip.
So out we waddle to the $5 slots. Well, hubby to the $5, I went to the quarters. We played awhile then decided ton wander through the high limit slot room. A REAL high limit room, no $1 or $5 machines like at Ballys. Back in the back left corner we spy a top dollar machine so we make a bee line to it. As we get closer I comment, "that machine is $1000/pull!" hubby said "technically $2000, if you don't bet max and hit the bonus, no bonus for you.". I looked at the top of the machine and said "OMG, the biggest bonus on the top dollar bonus says $1,000,000". We had to look at the machine again to make sure that's what we saw. I said I ought to take a picture of that machine, I'm not sure anyone would believe me when I told them. We decided we'd never be high rollers at Wynn so it was time for us to head back to Paris. We went back out the tower suite door again and hopped in a cab back to Paris. We played awhile at Ballys and Paris before deciding to go to bed, via the $5 top dollar machine again. Theres a machine 2 machines left of the top dollar machine that a man was standing in front of with this STACK of $100's. Now I know how big a stack my $5000 bankroll is I'm guessing this guy had a stack of close to $20,000 in his hand. He kept pressing the button on this machine and it wouldn't do anything so I looked over and said, "someone should be here in a minute, you're about to get a hand pay". I'm guess the was a regular because they came with his cash and w2g at the same time. He asked the girl how much he won and she said $5,000. When he walked off a few minutes later I looked at the machine and it was a $15 max bet machine and what he won meant he was only playing $5. Had he been betting max he would have won the $59,000 plus progressive. After that it was time to go to bed. Hubby was still up from good hits that morning, but he pretty much gave it away the rest if the day. I think I'd lost my high card flush winnings so I was back to my original bankroll, oh well, it could have been worse.
Sunday morning we went to the coffee shop @ Paris for breakfast. Food good, service is always spotty. We always seem to wait forever for drink refills and the check. After we ate we wandered down to MGM, we wanted to find the famous lion share slots. Hubby found the $1 top dollar machine he likes and quickly lost $200. The lions share line was 6 deep so we didn't wait. I found the 4x wild cherry machine I won a little on last year and hubby found $5 top dollars around the corner from me. I put my hundy in and played quite awhile, finally cashing out at $150, hubby said, put that in this $5 machine, I feel the bonus coming. I said ok, but if I lose it, you owe me $150, he said fine. I play and play and I'm down to my last $10 and I say, you owe me $150 as I hit the max bet button. Then i get the bonus and win $300, hubby got lucky, but I didn't split my winnings with him, he was still up from Sat.....for now.
We went back to PHo for some high card flush, lost our $200 buy ins in a few hours. Decided to hit up the diamond lounge as was opening. I ordered a Cosmo and hubby a bud light, got some snacks and talked to one of the waiters that had lived in Austin growing up. Hubby was born and raised there. Then I noticed the valentine special drink menu in the table, even though it was past valentines day. I had to order the chocolate covered cherry, then another and soon I had a serious buzz, I'm sort of s lightweight. We had back to the room so I could lay down awhile. Around 7 we head back down so hubby could put another $100 in the $5 machine. We both did and soon lost. Then I started to feel bad, this sweet drinks were catching up to me. Said gotta go lay down awhile, I'll text when I get up. An hour later tummy problems over, texted hubby and asked where he was, no answer but I found him at 3 card poker. Played with him for awhile and we both cashed out with our buy ins so where do we go? Yep, back to $5 ville, and no, we didn't win anything. Not a good day in the gambling dept, we seemed to just piddle it away. Maybe tomorrow, our anniversary, would be a better day.
