I miss live Keno. I'm sure I would have tipped you well, Kevin. Back in the day, husband and I played Keno in Bellagio Cafe every meal, managed several games a meal. Also managed to hit a few 6 out of 8 spots for around $160 or so, big money to us! Loved it. Then one day they told the Keno girls no more after 'today.' So sad. We had all become great friends. Tipped them well, and of course they loved to see us.
When the B Cafe closed, Sadelles was a pathetic replacement. Yet I was still seeing long lines. Those people had no clue. We never minded paying a little more for great food and great treatment. Sadelles didn't meet those standards for us, nowhere close. Two meals, first one and then another to 'give them a chance.' Nope.
Also played at Augustus Cafe at Ceasars, a super cafe. It shut down Keno around the same time. Then the A Cafe shut down for a crappy place in its place. Greedy sobs, to heck with what the customers enjoy.

The most fun I had as a keno writer was when I worked at the Comstock in Reno and our keno runners--all female, as was the custom--kept calling in sick/moving to Japan/kidnapped by aliens. I started working the cafe during the dinner rush, then four hours a night, then a full eight. The customers were amazed and bemused as I wended my way among the dining tables, chanting "Keno? Keno?" I made great tips, and the best part was, I was still getting paid as a writer!
My best move was when I realized there was no way, aside from my change tray and keno crayons, that customers could tell I was a keno runner. So I put on one of the KENO vests--and one of the short skirts. I was going to bob my hair but decided against it.
The most fun two months I ever had working in a casino. Unfortunately, they eventually hired three more girls, and I was back behind the counter.
