Man, what a trip..
My Casino Husband John (CLV calls him Enemin) drove us down Sunday morning- sweet ride. We landed at 11am, parking in The Ridge. I knew odds were not good getting a room that early on a Sunday in Summertime but the counter checkinling offered us a casino floor room. Hmmmm.. coming here 20 + years and didn’t know what she was talking about but John worked a double shift and needed a nap so we locked it in. Bally’s room 284 – a guard had to show me (Can U imagine that? Me..) A tiny hallway door right before the Rewards area RIGHT off the casino floor and between Bally’s proper and Wild Wild West. Seriously.. it was 200 yards away!
No slow elevators and no crowds, quiet fortress. A slant large bathtub w/ door- separate sink room w/ make-up mirror, flat screen TV, all done in calming browns and recessed lighting and an Ocean View IF you craned your neck to the left.- NICE! 3 bottles of water in the fridge.
John laid down. I went to scan my card for the Great Race.
(P.S. the kiosk terminals were DOWN the whole 2 days..crowds gathered waiting, staring, NOT GAMBLING; both at Bally’s and Caesars. I was so lucky that the second time I cruised by and fellow tech in a suit had a keyboard attached to the kiosk and scanned me personally but he was overwhelmed and left soon after- what a rip-off to the thousands who didn’t have a personal helper like me.) This was BOTH DAYS..out of order- I think they are getting slammed by the volume of people (and the money they might lose) making some executive order to thwart us but my pal Wei reports there were working at Showboat the week before.
I got $20.00 FP as a Kiosk surprise and used that in $JOB to no good as did another twenty of my own so I played those dime Triple Super Bonus quad blue things and the Gods were with me- I got 2 sets of quad 4’s for 1,000 dimes each for a $200.00 session win. I used my first time ever 3 digit code for $10.00 FP and in less than 1 minute a Host came by and asked if I was JEANNE-- yes I say.. she says "Don't worry, ur not in trouble" I wasn't worried.. wants up? She just introduced herself-- times be tough if that's the case.. I don't rate a host- wonder if she was checking to see if I was really me.. Hmmm. I showed no ID.
Frank called (Umpire) he was at Borgata and I had business there so I caught a Jitney and played my $60.00FP, never getting more than 2 pair it went fast- I found Frank and we hugged hello. He was playing Dollar DDB so I joined him to catch up- my $20.00 became $70.oo fast w/ a dealt straight, then a flush but it went faster to zip..zilch, nada (Damn!) and I took my leave to Jitney to Resorts early..
I was going for this amazing offer but knew I would have to wait on a G.D. long ass line; $100.00 worth of Restaurant.com gift card. I wasted 20 minutes on the slot club line to find I was supposed to be upstairs in the Horizon Room because when I called the week before, someone told me I’d need to go to Promotions to get a voucher first- I was good at practicing my patience and tolerance the whole time.
Had to take the elevator to floor “D” (for dining) and I was still 45 minutes early, we wait outside a ballroom w/ 50 other people but the line only got longer. Made friends w/ another single woman, chatting until the couple behind us got in on the conversation also—Angela had a $200.00 offer but the couple (Suzanne and Frank) from near Lancaster, P.A. I told them how I was getting this for Tennis_Bum as he always uses restaurant.com for our Vegas meals and although I didn’t know how it worked, restaurant.com backs their product.
Suzanne and Frank both had offers for $500.00 worth (!?!?) They didn’t like that you had to pay anything- but I knew Bum had gotten good deals like spend $8.00 to get $25.00 off $50.00 or more at Buzz BBQ and Gaetanos and it’s Nationwide.. I told the couple that I might be inclined to offer them $100.00 cash for one of their $500.00 cards thereby hedging their bet as they could use one and sell the other. Suzanne said she’d do it for $200.00.
I sighed, told her it was worth it but I only had so much money and wanted to gamble so no hard feelings…but we kept talking about weight, weight watchers, Greek yogurt and shoo-fly pie- the line moved somewhat- they opened the Ballroom but they took all Elite Black card lines first—we were closer but stood another 10 minutes until Suzanne tapped me on the shoulder and said her hubby would take my deal. SCORE! I was given the gift card and waited for Suzanne outside where she handed me 5 of them for my $100.00 bill-we shook hands. I skipped all the way back to the room with little doubt that T.B. will be surprised.
Back to the TR,
John texted me he forgot his charger, had woken up and was playing at Caesars poker room and would be turning is phone off- it was past 3 and Mama was hungry .
Hiked from Bally’s thru Wild Wild West to Caesars second floor to main floor by the front--- to Poker Room… No John.
No John. I wonder if he’s playing at Bally’s and just THINKS he’s at Caesars.
Sigh. I text him he’s an A-hole and march back to Bally’s 6th floor Poker Room… No John.
I have to eat. The D.L. is right by the Poker Room.
No Line. I eat Creamy Tomato soup w/ grated cheese; have table side made Caesars salad w/ chicken . Load up on braciole (Braised rolled Italian shellsteak (amazing!) in sauce- pasta (Gnocchi in cream sauce), pizza and soft serve ice cream w/ caramel sauce w/ a cappuccino.
I mentioned how good the braciole was , the waitress sent the Chef out so he took a seat and I commended him.
Also told the D.L. checkinling how much better it had gotten w/ them charging $10.00 in RC for entering and she was grateful for that because of all the flack she’s been taking from other customers. It keeps out the drinkers and lines are way less. So worth it in A.C.
Full, I played some VP and Machines- couldn’t get hear the Hang-Over machines. Found John, believe I missed him taking a smoke or bathroom break..he missed an wonderful meal.
Ran into Mr. “O”, the Baccarat King on the escalator to Caesars and meet one of his children- stopped by the Box office to see if I could get comped Tix to Human Nature- It was storming/high winds and a Sunday- was hoping the concert had some empty seats..they sent me to VIP- VIP checked my diamond card and OK-ed 2 tix so I had to plead w/ John to come w/ me—he didn’t want to see “ a boy band”. Thought his street cred was on the line….lol-- until the cool kid playing next to him said he was going.
John was hauling it in at the table- every time I swept by he was in a hand w/ tons of red chips he was scooping up and his stack only got bigger. I hit some penny machines and cashed $100.00 each both in Sinows Buffalo and Jumpin’ Jalapenos – I lost some of it on Dime Ultimate X. the whole day was lose $15.00/win $23.00 up and down but mostly even.
John was sitting in our seats when I got there. The show was great- same insanely talented back-up band but this time the lead singers voice was in full and good vocal shape. Guessing the East Coast humidity worked for him. same show as in Vegas.
The two hightlights for me are People Get Ready (there's a train acomin')- and ooooBaby Baby by Smokey.
Mr. “O” had asked us to stop by for a drink afterwards/I was tired but jazzed from the live music; John wanted a snack—Mr. “O” text read “meet us at Ocean Surf where Primavera used to be” ..oh dear- I don’t know where that is—I grabbed a Caesars suit walking by and showed him my phone “Where is this please?” He knew, it was right up the staircase we were by—the Maître Di did not know Mr.”O” but I spotted him, we meet his daughter , Adina (17) and the famous Ellen, his wife; who has both just seen the concert too. John split “O”s filet steak, we ate oysters and sushi. Mr. “O” is LRB so we just left a tip. Service was awful but they are new.
John wanted chocolate but settled for gelate. It’s 10:30pm and I’m beat but still we tried to play LOTR’s- do you know all 4 were not working because the money boxes were TOO FULL OF PAPER MONEY ?!? sigh. I was pissed.
Found a STP and we double our twenty each twice… nice. I was going to salt scrub in my bath tub. John gave me an hour to be alone. He played Poker and lost $100.00.
Bed was 12:15.
Monday AUGUST 22
I awoke too early, it was 4:59.
ARUGH. Got up to use bathroom and stumbled over John’s bed dressings, pillows, shoes and clothes scattered on the dark carpet AURGHH. BOYS!!
Tried to go back to sleep but it wasn’t happening. Made coffee, moving the pot in the bathroom—John slept like a tired lazy ole country coon dog...boys. lol
I found the casino blissfully empty, tried those Hang-Over machines- got Mr. Chows Tricky jackpot and Dougs Mini progressive. Lose at machines, Lose at Caesars, lose at FULL Diamond Moon- lose lose lose—I sure hate when I have my pick of games and I pick wrong.
Back to Bally’s- try the Triple Super Bonus quads when New Norman calls me- dealt 3 aces/ Pull the 4th on bottom line for $300.00 (1,200 quarters) Yay! He brought me luck.
Try a Zeus, try Mermaids til John texts me: he’s up when is breakfast?
—Text Mr. “O”- he’ll stop by on way to beach to power walk- to say Hello. new text- we’ll join you get table for 8…
One waitress for all over 6IX.
Got fresh berries/eggs/bacon/toast. John: Raisin Bran/ scrambled eggs w/ steak. Had $30.00 coupon. Fresh faced O Family joins us- kids are great- young, fun and quick to laugh. Ellen is simply a natural beauty and O is next to me telling me secrets.
John is going to play Poker. I hunt and peck for a winning machine- playing dime double STP- Move to Trump- lost $300.00 taking a shot at $2.00 B.P.
It’s time to pack (I got us 1pm check out) John joins me in room. He won again.
As were moving luggage to the car I spot Bigfus! She’s hauling a cold case of sodas to the “O” family on the beach. She walks us to the car. John and I decide to see them one more time (and John can carry the sodas) I find myself walking on shell casings (the clam kind..) hotsandnoshadeIhatethebeach what am I doing here anyways?!?—We take a photo, the boys are diggin a hole- the ladies are under an umbrella, the girls are in the surf..idealic. As we walk back to the Boardwalk, a burr gets between my foot and sandal-hate nature! I stop and the guy in front of me is blocked.. it’s Tito!; Sergei’s husband.. Sergei is my Brooklyn gay husband.. a dear friend. Sergei’s in Russia and what are the odds of running into Tito here?!? Wild!
Kip, John and I walk to Resorts to use my $15.00 FP. They talk about the upcoming MPT in 2 weeks. John wants to play. I’ve no plans to be here- John can come by himself but is shy about wanting to w/o me.
John tries $ BVP w/ Kip helping him. I turn my $15.00 into $50.00, we both cash out winners.
Kip walks us back to Caesars when we run in to the O Family heading back to O’s suite so Kip goes w/ them- they had some Resorts Shenanigans..With a capitol “S” to attend to ~~!~!~!~!ATTN:!~!~!~!~! this STORY is a report in itself.
John was thinking White House but I had one more coupon at Kwi so we stopped there for Chicken Pad Thai and Rocking Rolls (Deep friend shrimp wrapped in bacon)
Way too full; we walked to The Ridge for the car, got home in record time.
John was ahead $400.00/ me.. I lost between $300/$400. Which is totally acceptable for the shots I took.
Really great trip w/ ECLVAers and shows, food and gambling!
