Aug 25th through 30th Downtown - Bad Karma!

We had a tough trip this last time especially just getting there to Vegas...We were scheduled to leave Wichita,Ks on Sunday Aug 25th 7:30P.M. as the plane came in the navigational system went down..We waited till almost 11pm till the airline said the part wasn't available so they put the people who lived over 50 miles away in a Hotel overnight...Obtaining a voucher and getting to the Hotel took over an hour with a promise of the next morning a 10am departure...The plane that came in from Vegas had the part on it but it too broke down so they tried to fix two planes on the tarmac..We got a lunch voucher and finally about 4pm we got out of Wichita and arrived Vegas about 5pm..I had the feeling my Karma was disturbed..Our group of 4 didn't do well but we stayed at Main Street..We ate at Tony Romas for the evening which was good.
Tuesday we ate the Main Street buffet breakfast commencing to play downtown slots, crap tables and blackjack..Golden Gate is pretty noisy right now with renovations going on and the zip line just kind of clutters up the inside sky line of downtown..We ate off the two for one for the t-bone at the Main Street buffet tuesday night, don't recommend it as the steaks aren't that great..I had one good session at Vegas Club for about $200 on the crap table..
Wednesday we ate at the Freemont with two for one at breakfast..Two for one at Golden Gate for lunch..The girls used the free slot play coupons all downtown..We played at the El Cortez and had fun, no big wins..Tried to eat at the Pasta Pirate for Wednesday at 5pm but you need a reservation so I made one for Thursday night...We ate at the 777 brewery at Main Street for dinner and used our comps..Tried to get in to Jay Bolen at the Four Queens but he had took off about 2 weeks before, so that was a no go..
Thursday played at the D, love the Horse racing machine on 2nd floor...Had another good session on the craps table for $200..I think the girls did their best on the slots at the Vegas Club and California with several wins of 2 to 3 Hundred.. Well we got to the Pasta Pirate about 5pm Thursday and got seated and guess what.. The power went out in the Casino and for four other properties..Unbelievable we set in there with candlelight and it took till 7pm to get the power fully on and the grills going but it was good food and I highly recommend it and we used the 2 for 1..
Friday we had a 10am flight back to Wichita, which left on time with no mechanical issues..Got back home to Tulsa and the Air Conditioner went out the next day..Sometimes Karma just doesn't go your way..Allegiant has promised everyone on the flight out a $100 voucher , I've going to e-mail them and ask for free round trips...
Overall the pan-handlers downtown are getting to be a problem..My wife was hit up for change at the Freemont playing a machine right next to the front door...I counted 5 to 10 with the same sign, homeless and need help..We used a lot of coupons and thanks to the LVA for that and we didn't go to the strip...
Thanks for that report to my favorite LV location.

And yes, that does sound like you had bad karma going on through the trip. At least there were some nice gaming wins and inexpensive food.

Thanks for the report- isn't it odd that the plane doesn't break down on the return trip?
I noticed your comment about the steaks at the MSS buffet. I agree they are bad. I never get them. I would never serve steaks from their buffet to any guests. They are thin and tough.

They are tougher than Rambo on a POW camp.
What did you do to deserve THAT karma?! (just kidding)

Hope your next trip goes a lot better.
