Bally's 7/25 - 7/28

This year's annual trip included me, my daughter and my aunt. Flew Southwest out of Midway for the first time. It was nice not to pay for checked bags but the plane was small and the bathroom VERY small. Room at Bally's was ready when we arrived at 2pm.

Stopped at Imperial Palace to use the 2:1 buffet coupon - food was decent for the price. Over to Venetian where my daughter got a players card and $25 free slot play with the ACG coupon. She turned it into $35 and was happy with that. Played the Goldish Race for the Gold. Fun game but only saw the "race" once.
Headed to Harrah's and saw Defending the Caveman - nice way to spend an hour. Finished up the evening with slots at Bally's.

7/26 - Woke up early (6am - still on Chicago time!) Not much is open, but went over to Planet Hollywood for their breakfast buffet. Very disappointing - should have gone to La Salsa Cantina in the Miracle Mile instead. Did some shopping and then headed downtown around 1:30pm. Took about 45 minutes to get there on the Deuce - but it was cool and not crowded. Next time will take the 108 express as it makes fewer stops. Had a hot dog and deep fried twinkie at Mermaids. Saw America's Sound at 4 Queens - a very nice afternoon show which would be much better in a nicer venue. Dinner at the Golden Nugget buffet - very nice atmosphere and service for a buffet. Cashed in free slot play at El Cortez and 4 Queens, came back to Bally's a little ahead.

7/27 - Had breakfast at the Village Buffet at Paris. My aunt is a diamond player so we got to bypass the line. Love the made to order omelette and such a great atmosphere. Saw a 2:30 pm show called "Piano" at Planet Hollywood. What a fantastic show! I am not really a big piano player fan, but this young man is very talented. Also, they had a comedian/magician named Mike Hammer in the show - and I went on stage to "assist" him. He has his own show at 7pm at 4 Queens and he is very entertaining. Went to the Paris Diamond club before heading down to Harrah's to see Legends. I have seen this show a few times before but it seems they have improved it a lot. We saw Stevie Wonder, Bobby Darin (sp?) Lady Gaga, Steven Tyler and Elvis.

I was surprised at how crowded the streets and casinos were in comparison to the emptier shows and restaurants. The workers were less friendly this year (overworked?) than in previous years. Overall, I consider this a winning trip (brought back most of my gambling $$) and used a 2:1 for all shows and meals. My daughter came back with gifts for her friends AND $25 more than she brought! Until next time .......
Very nice! Thanks jmduke57 for that report and good coupon use (especially the coupons for more potential $ from the Freeplay).

And I want to make sure that you know that if you show La Salsa Cantina your Harrah's Total Rewards Slot Club Card, you get a 10% discount!

Winning trips are good trips!! So are losing trips, but wining is always better.

I noticed the difference between the crowds in the casinos/streets vs shows/restaraunts. Don't people eat anymore?
