I turned the big 50 and it was the best birthday celebration ever! I had been losing after the first night for three days straight and then my machine went crazy on what was my birthday "gaming" day, i.e., after midnight on my birthday but before 6 am. The wins, as AMAZING as they were (my most winning trip in 23 years of going to Vegas), were still -- and I'm mean this 100000% -- just icing on the cake of what was an amazing trip. Had I lost my bankroll entirely it still would have been the best trip ever. On Wednesday after a friend, big brother and I had breakfast at Harrah's I then traveled solo for three days to Zion and then Bryce Canyon national parks. What amazing places.
I had started my birthday before everyone arrived with a wonderful spa treatment at Qua on a Friday morning and dinner at Giada's with DBueler that night. The following day it was a facial at Bally's and breakfast at MAG with DBueler and just doing nothing but playing and enjoying LV Boulevard on Saturday before another friend arrived.
Sunday morning my friend Peaches, DBueler and I had breakfast at the Flamingo buffet and that night saw Vinnie Favorito. Show was funny as always.
By Monday morning everyone was in town, which is when the real group celebration began (and where big brother's trip report kicks off!)
I finished my birthday celebration with three solo days in Vegas (spent mostly recovering/getting sleep, lost some then won that back and then some . . . incredible), capping my last night seeing John Legend at the Cosmopolitan. I felt like I had three vacations in one but the best part was celebrating 50 years with the best big brother ever and some great friends, including a fellow LVAer. The only downside is that as much as I love Vegas, I don't think any future trip will ever top this one. Instead, it will be the one against which all future trips will be measured.
