Before we left on our trip, hubby said that it was my turn to win since he'd gotten 2 w2g's last year. I have yet to get one. No spoiler alert here, I still don't have one but Sunday was my fun day, lets just say... $600?!
We woke up earlier on Sunday than the day before and wanted to hit the buffet at PHo for breakfast. Waiting for the elevator, he points, I point, ding....I win! Not much of a line at 9:30 in the morning at the buffet so we were seated in their diamond section and watched ESPN on TV as we ate. I know nothing about basketball and hubby was marginally interested, no sports betting this trip, we save that for college football on our Sept. trip. After breakfast we went to go use his free play. I found a triple double wild cherry that wasn't kind, he found a top dollar, same. We then went into their high limit slot room. This is the first time I've ever noticed this separate little area. How long has it been there....or am I really not very observant? A lady was getting a hand pay at the $25 top dollar machine. At least someone is winning, right? I had a $60 gift card from PHo that I wanted to use at Coach for some new sunglasses since I'm prone to leaving my sunglasses in Vegas, so we head that way. First stop Bellagio, we seem to have better luck at the B on Sunday mornings. We sat at $1 machines, him top dollar, me triple stars. An hour later, I'm $100 down and he's still playing on his. I order a champagne while I watch him get a few small bonuses. He cashes out at $300 and we head to the $5 top dollar. I had said on the way over I was only losing $200 at the B, he said ditto. Hubby has a rule, if someone has played a top dollar and cashed out after the bonus, play that machine. Not sure why, but that's his thing. We walked up the the bank of $5 machines and one had recently hit the bonus. He sits at the machine next to it and says, play the one with the bonus. I put my hundy in and get a few small bonuses. I then hit a few larger bonuses. It end up cashing out at $800, $600 up for the day. Yay me! He loses half of the $300 that he won and has a wild hair, let's play a $25 top dollar, I said let's not, but he's determined. He puts $200 in and......nothing. Let's go, momma needs some new sunglasses. We wander into Caesars and go to the Coach store closest to the casino and apply my $60 card toward some sunglasses, because everyone knows, $60 doesn't get you much at Coach! We head out of Caesars, we don't enjoy their casino.
Cromwell has a triple double wild cherry $1 machine. I put my hundred in, hubby goes to a $1 top dollar. I order another champagne and I'm hitting things here and there. Hubby lost at top dollar but while he was there a lady stopped him, said she wanted to say hi on behalf of our marketing executive and gave him her card and said if he needed anything let her know. Her card said she was a hospitality host. He came and sat next to me and played a 3x 4x 5x pay machine. We spent quite a while at thos machines, I know I had 2 glasses of champagne . All of a sudden I had a 3x wild cherry just below the pay line, the next one was on the pay line and the third one was above the pay line......$600. I'll take it. We accumulate quite a few TC's at Cromwell. Next stop, Ballys high limit. I play the 3x 4x 5x pay, he plays the machine next to it that he won $4500 on last summer. He's feeding the machine, I put $100 in, lost it, put another in......$600. Play awhile longer.... $200.....awhile longer $600. I end up cashing out at $1100. We went to have a drink at the Paris diamond lounge, I ordered a strawberry daiquiri again, this one was nasty. We then head back to PHo to rest up and then get changed for dinner. Dinner res was at Mastros Oceans Club, one of our favorite restaurants in Vegas. Our server Paul was outstanding as was our meal. We both had the small version of their salads, hubby had steak, I had halibut and we shared a small version of their scalloped potatoes. I had a nice Sauvingnon Blanc, he drank tea, not a wine drinker. We split the warm butter cake for dessert. I said, I'm buying, I've had a better day than you! I like how you can order smaller portions of their salads and sides, in the past we've left a lot of food on the table! We always have to save room for the warm butter cake!
After dinner we go back to the high limit room at Ballys to our respective machines. I play a hundy, then another, then.......$600. We just started to laugh after that, seriously how many times in a day can you win $600, but hey, I dad good wins and don't have to pay tax on it! I went and played a little 3 card while hubby battled his machine. I went back to where he was at and played the $1 top dollar behind him, yes, someone had walked away after the bonus. Two spins later, I hit bonus. An hour later and 8 bonuses I said I've had enough. I had a purse full of hundreds and was happy. We always finish our night with each of us runnin $100 through the $5 top dollar at Paris, we pooled our money and played til we got a bonus and pretty much cashed out at what we put in, so we split it. Back at PHo we played a little high card flush, after we each lost our buy in, the dealer said he'd been dealing that game since 7 p.m. and no one had really won anything all night...thanks for telling us that after you've taken all our money. That's ok we like that dealer, hes's dealt high card flush there for several years. Back to the room to count my money, my successful Sunday had brought met back to within $300 of where I started when I arrived. I'd say that's not bad. Hubby isn't having any luck but he's enjoyed my day of winning. And he also won 2 more elevator bets. One observation of the day, I always seem to have better luck with my second hundred in a machine.
Monday is another day....and I'll finish this another day. Thanks for reading!
