Wow! Thanks for posting that report, and congratulations on your great hits (especially the $5k Scratch Card)! I do think that good things come to those who wait and I do think that playing Positive returning VP helps as well!

As for your dining comments, first, that's not good about your incident at Vic and Anthony's and I agree that Tilman Fertitta should be told about this and maybe while you're at it, you should also mention that you don't think that it was a good idea to get rid of the Carson Street Cafe!

As for the big Hot Dog at Fremont, I've seen the signs for it and wondered about whether the quality of it might have been like the one that I read that they used to have at Westward Ho. But I have told people that the big Hot Dogs in Las Vegas still do exist.

I do really like 10/7 DB but know that it is somewhat volatile so I know that it can go in either direction with "Hot" and "Cold" streaks.

As for going somewhere on the Strip at night, be aware that you don't have to take LV Blvd. to get there. There is Industrial/Dean Martin on the West Side of the Strip and Paradise or Maryland Parkway on the East Side of the Strip.

And I have been noticing that there is more stuff on Fremont Street than before and I don't know if that's better.

RecVPPlayer,

I didn't mind at all that Vic & Anthony's doesn't have any type of dress code. It's just that I was told there were no jeans, t-shirts, flipflops or tank tops. When I was in town earlier this year and last year in December, I asked in person just to make sure. Then before I came I called again and talked to "Chris" the manager. Then when I get there after hauling good clothes and shoes for the trip, they let anyone in regardless of what they were wearing. The guy sitting in the table next to me was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and basketball shoes with no socks. When I finished eating I went back up to the room and called the manager because I didn't want to make scene in the restaurant. This guy flat-out lied to me.

An employee told me the Carson Street Café is going to be replace by Cadillac Bar, which is a Landry's Mexican restaurant. The place will be split with another place called Michael Patrick's and who knows what will be served there because it's brand new. I was told it was Tilman Fertitta's son's name.

The big hot dog is exactly like the old Westward Ho dog. Not as good as the Vienna Beef one that Lady Luck had.

As far as gambling wins, I knew that sooner or later one of those short very hot streaks was going to occur and it did on this trip.

As far as driving on the Strip, I had to take my mother with me to the Mirage, Caesar's and Bellagio. She can't walk those distances so I had to use valet parking at each.
Duplicate Post.
Wow, congratulations on the great winning trip! Very nice!!!
Wow what a sweet win , a big congratulations. It so nice to see folks win.

I agree with you about the dress codes. I don't dress up much but I sure hate to be told business casual etc and the guy next to me has a Disney shirt and hat on, like at Charthouse my last visit. If you tell people or post it on your web site or menu ENFORCE it.

I understand, but the ways that I mentioned are ways to get to the back end of the casino (or you could take it up to the back end and then go up if you're at a street that you can go up to get to the front of the casino [like Spring Mountain]).

Since this involved Mirage, Caesar's and Bellagio, what you could do for the future if this happens again is go up Industrial/Dean Martin (you can pick up Industrial by going South on Main Street to Wyoming [this is before Stratosphere]), taking a Right on Wyoming and then a Left on Industrial and take it South to Spring Mountain (which would put you by Treasure Island) for at least Mirage and possibly Caesar's and take Industrial/Dean Martin to Hotel Rio Road and take that around to Flamingo Road for getting to Bellagio.

As for the food stuff, I'm just interested in people's opinions since I keep Kosher and can't eat at these places.

"Our suggested attire is business or dressy casual. A jacket and tie is preferred for gentlemen, but not required. We do not allow hats, shorts or flip-flops."

I know exactly where those places are, but it is still a very long hike from the parking garage to the front of the property, at Caesar's especially. I know all those routes, but the way I did it was by far the best for us.

Where is the best Kosher deli in Las Vegas?

Met with an accountant today to see just how much I get to keep.
Congratulations on your big win, especially on the $5000 scratch card! I too had heard that one person a year finds it, but I figured it was about the gambling equivalent of saying someone has seen Bigfoot. You have restored my faith. :D

Yes, the Golden Nugget buffet blows, but the Fremont buffet is okay on seafood nights as long as you stick with the seafood. If you're willing to spring the money and time on the Strip, I highly recommend Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan. Just thinking about the roasted bone marrow there makes my mouth water.
