Needless to say, we awoke refreshed after our good nights sleep. Up at around 7 am, hubby apologizes for the wasted afternoon, I tool him it's all good, sometimes you need to sleep on vacation. We got ready and head to PHo for breakfast at the spice market buffet. After our MRBM coupon, breakfast was $12.95. We got there early so it was just breakfast stuff so it was basic buffet fare, I had an egg white omelet, hard to screw that up. Service was terrible this time. Hubby drinks tea, he always asks for 2 at buffets because it can sometimes take so long for a refill. The lady brought 2, my coffee and water and we never saw her again. Just as we were about to leave a man came up and refilled our drinks.
We played slots at PHo for awhile then bought in for $100 at high card flush and played awhile, not as much fun when the table isn't full. We went back to Paris so I could get to the spa by 11:30. I had scheduled the 80 minute frangipani body treatment. Mandara spa is sort of a let down once you've been to Qua. The sauna was broken, there's only one hot tub, I just wasn't impressed. I guess I'm spoiled living in Austin where I can spend a day at the Lake Austin Spa. Note to self, frangipani is a VERY flowery scent...don't do it again, it reminded me of gardenias. I was scrubbed and wrapped up and then my scalp was massaged, then I was unwrapped and massaged. All the while there was a strange gonging sound that would go off every so often, sort of distracting. Massage therapist says pool is just above the spa...the treatment was nice but like I said, I like Qua, but I would like to try the spa at ballys, I've read good things.
Once I got the oily stuff out of my hair we then went across to Bellagio. We played on our $1 machines over by the buffet and played on our $100 for awhile. Hub says let's go play the $5 machines so we move to the $5 top dollar. We both end up putting $209 in each machine, I got a few bonuses on mine and cashed out double my buy in. Just before I cashed out, hubby got up and noticed a lady sitting at the $1 top dollar he'd been playing, she'd hit the 2 double diamonds and was waiting for her $1600 hand pay and W2.... Had we stayed there 10 more minutes that would have been the hubby. Oh well, that's why they call it gambling and not winning. We then walked through the conservatory, it was the same display I saw when I was there last.
Next stop was Caesars, I wanted to take the hubby to the diamond lounge and see if we might see Jon there on a break from his tournament schedule, I remembered seeing he was at Caesars that weekend. We didn't see him but we had a nice snack of salads and pastas. We wandered through Caesars for awhile, he played the $5 top dollar in the high limit room with no luck. We both had received $50 in free play at the Cromwell so that was our next stop. We found some of the few dollar machines they have and put our coupons in. They didn't work, they were only good monad through Thursday. Oh well, we'll go back tomorrow. Back across to ballys so we could work to get my 1000, I went to one of the $1 WOF machines in the high limit area and out in my handy, 3rd spin I got the wheel, $40, played some more and got the wheel, won$100. Hubby decides to sit next to me, plays a hubby, gets no wheels, goes to another machine, ditto so he says he's going back to his triple machine. Right before he walks off I get a wheel, $400! I end up cashing out the machine with a $500 profit. We then go back to the room to dress for dinner.
We had a 7:30 res @ BLT steak. We were big fans of the old steakhouse at Ballys and had read good reviews about the new place. We get seated and the bring out an amuse of some thinly sliced meats, pate and crostini. I ordered a glass if Pinot noir that had cherry notes, it was really good. They brought out their giant popovers with sea salt and butter, yum. We split the crab cake appetizer, it was good. I ordered a salad and hub got a Caesar, he still says his favorite Caesar is the one from the coffee shop at Paris. He ordered a NY strip medium rare and I got the filet medium. My filet was medium rare and his strip was medium. Neither of us were impressed with our steak, not the puny side of potato gratin. My steak was so heavily charred in the outside it was all I could taste. I ended up cutting off all the char but wasn't thrilled with what was left, it was almost mooing at me. They had done specials on their board so we ordered the banana cream pie since it was my bday dinner, sorry we're out, at 8:30 at night, you're out? So we just took a pass on dessert. They do bring out these little things that liked like chocolate dipped lollipops. Dinner with one app, 2 salads, 2 steaks, 1 side, 1 glass if wine and an iced tea was $190, thank goodness we had the $100 diamond dinner voucher. For that kind of money, we'll go back to Country a Club Grill at Wynn. Although we weren't thrilled with our meal, the service was impeccable. I'll say it now, I miss the old steakhouse.
After dinner we returned to the high limit room, hubby to the 3x 4x 5x machine an I to WOF. I put my hundy in and got wheel after wheel. In about an hour I lost count at 15 wheels, but nothing larger than $40. I cashed out with a $200 profit and went to the $1 top dollar behind hubby and I hit 9 different bonuses! Needless to say, we got my 1000 TCs so I got by 1000 bump. We ended up cashing out a little bit up, but then went and lost $200 each at let it ride. Ballys giveth and Ballys taketh away. We end our night at the $5 top dollar at Paris, no win but I think we had both pretty much broken even by the end of the day. It's not a bad thing to go to bed with the same amount of money you woke up with! Called it a night around 1:30.
Last day tomorrow.
