Borgata, if anyone cares

Didn't know Borgata was an MGM property until we received a charter flight offer to Borgata, 3 nights, $650 in Free Play.  I haven't ever even set foot in new Jersey.  Had to check this out.  In brief:

Hotel rooms nice, EXCEPT no bathtub!  I must have a tub soak after a day of gambling.  After finding my bathroom had no tub I called to hopefully change to a room with a tub, but no dice.  Was told only the suites have tubs, and without saying so the agent assured me I had no chance of getting a suite.  That may be a deal breaker as far as ever going back to Borgata.  I did put it on my survey.  They did have an in-room coffee maker, so that was a plus.  Housekeeping was upon request, like most places since the pandemic.

Tables of all kinds, $5 and $10 minimums for 3 Card Poker all the time.

Other tables: Blackjack, Four Card Poker, Flop Poker, Let It Ride, Criss Cross, others.   Sorry I didn't get table minimums on all games, but lots of $10, $15, and $25 even on Saturday night.

VP--could not use Free Play on VP.  Lots of Ultimate X, Super Times Play, all kinds of version of VP (which usually cost an extra coin per line to play).   Played very little VP, if any.

Borgata was previously run by Boyd.  A lady told me MGM acquired it "three or four years ago."  She had been playing at Borgata since they opened years ago (Boyd), said it gave "wonderful treatment back in the Boyd days as well as now."  She and husband probably high rollers.  Staff all friendly (except that agent  on the phone about my tub request, LOL), mostly fast cocktail service at machines and tables.

Noise--casino mega noisy Saturday, beyond loud music.  Found out later that is the norm for Saturday, when they have live bands playing in four bars/venues.  One was Gypsy Bar, packed and people waiting to get in, and B-Bar in middle of the casino.

Dining--lots of options, many nice restaurants with very good food and service. Can give recommendations if anyone is interested.

Security--Two guards checking every room key with their gizmo before you could pass to your elevator bank.  Seemed that they were very strict with it.  Elevators also had the gizmo you must put your room card in front of it and push your floor button.

Masks etc.--Masks required for all employees but not guests.  Interestingly, I'd say at least 75% of guests were wearing masks.  Of course masks still required for everyone in airport, on plane (Sun Country), and on bus transporting us airport to hotel and back  No problems with anyone on the plane.  Actually have never seen anyone acting up on any airplane, charter or otherwise.

How we did:  My BFF, Connie, hit four or five small jackpots, the ones just over the IRS limit.  No jackpots for me.  I did pretty well at 3-card Poker.  A girl on our plane had hit a $21,000 jackpot, said she was on her last $5 when she hit.

Thanks if you read this.  It was a fun time overall.  Just not Vegas.

Super TR, Thanks.

I've never had an offer for Borgota from MGM, either.  I do get combo flight/hotel/small amount of free play offers for the Beau.  They aren't freebies, though.
