Well... We thought we would try Choctaw Casinos New Year festivities this year.
The casino was packed full New Years eve.
The VIP festivities were a buffet dinner in a small room (about 30 tables). There was a small dance floor and a very loud (music) DJ. The DJ and sound level were not appropriate for this age group (mostly over 50).
The food was carved beef and custom pasta cooked to order for each person. Good salads and desserts. There were large peeled shrimp as well. The food was good.
The problem was that there was a line to get in, some waiting an hour. (Not s good thing for VIPS.) We got there early and missed most of the line.
Today on January one they had a breakfast brunch. It had the typical breakfast fare. It was served by the pool. Again only 20 tables. The line was about an hour long. we were fortunate to get there before the line got long.
Suggestions for Choctaw:
1. Learn how to cater to the VIP clients.
2. The VIPS should not have to wait for the VIP buffet.
3. The music for this age group should be low enough in volume for the clients to be able to talk.
4. If you have a dance floor it should be about 6 times or larger than one that was offered.
5. The buffet should be available from a number of serving stations with minimal waits.
6. The entertainment should be a band.
7. Why not have drawings for some cash?
I suppose we will go to Sam's in Shreveport next year as they really know how to cater to VIPS.
