CORONA........

3 nights downtown:9,10 & 11.

1 night comp at The Downtown Grand and 2 nights paid at The California.($140,all in).

The Grand waived the R.F. Thanks!

Got in on Monday and checked in around 4 PM-no problem.I requested a smoking 2 queen room.OK,so far.

Even with a "smoking room",the windows do NOT open. What? There was an air purifier in the room that is a good idea, but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on.One button on the phone to housekeeping and the Dude was there in 3 minutes to see what was up."It's out of water". Well, that didn't work,so he brought us a better one in 5 minutes.Ralph and I plugged in our phones and organized our stuff.Coupons. Check. Cash. Check. Take a shower? Go ahead.

On the way up,I snagged a few Mt. Dews from a machine, just off of the lobby. Easy.

No little refer in the room,so it's off to find some ice. One floor up. Fine.

Ready,so we went to the casino for some video poker. NO 9/6!? So it's 8/5 at the Furnace Bar.

Weird songs playing overhead: One good and then one bad, over and over.A couple of quads and that was it!

After an hour of punishment we headed over to the El Cortez for some REAL black jack:2 deck pitch,$5 minimum. Fine. That was just OK for about 2 hours of fun.  "Let's blow this fire trap" and headed for the Plaza.

3/2 BJ and single zero roulette.Party Pit. Music was WAY too loud:that's why I avoid The D.

$10 a spin and it didn't take long to go through $300 because my numbers were not hitting.  By that  time, a small headeache was brewing but the Corona's helped. I joined Ralph at the black jack table and I couldn't count, being distracted by a LOT of cleavage there. That's enough fun,we have a big day tomorrow.

We booked a session at Machine Guns Vegas for tomorrow,so I had to cut my self off.

Monday: Meet at The D valet entrance and look for the van to pick us up @ 1:30. It has machine guns attached to the top of the van,so you really couldn't miss it.

Our package included 2 hand jobs and a full auto experience.

No wait! Hand guns each and Ralph pre-paid for the full- auto machine guns.

Our driver was fine. Carol,a wine connesour- connoisseur, dummy.

This will be really to read now,old people!

Carol dropped us off at the V.I.P. entrance that opened up into a very nice lounge area.

Our greeter explained the packages available and we chose our guns.  Our range safety officer,ED,expained a few more rules and we signed our waivers. We got a private range with only 2 shooting spots. I started with my hand guns and did OK. Ralph is ex-military and did much better at our targets.I declined to shoot the 50 caliber Desert Eagle.I'm a little guy.

   Then,onto a separate range where there were a few people there. Ralph's BIG guns came out.Full automatics. Insane. I have a video.A full-automatic 12 gauge hurt Ralph's shoulder.He is 300 pounds.I'm 160,wet.

After all of that fun,we were done and we paid up and got into our van, back to The D.

Back to the Cal for some blackjack?Ralph settled in and I went looking for a 9/6 VP machine.I forgot what VP free said that they were,so I went over the sky bridge to where there were lots of them.(Found 'em,later)

My chosen machine at The Boar's head bar had reflected can lights from the cieling,so I moved one over.I covered the left side of my bar top screen  with some $1 bills. The Bar Geek said that they just ran out of High Roller Gold.Negra Modello's will work.

You meet the nicest people at that bar!

Andy from Dallas. We jabbered for hours;he was high on edibles and we both drank beers. Andy was pretty good at VP so I asked him if he knew about VP FREE."Huh?" OK,I'll send you a link, later. We traded email addresses.

I was ready for some craps. No takers.

After 8 Modello's,I excused myself and went back to The Cal.Ralph was in his same spot and I settled in @ 3rd base.                    $300 buy in.$5 minumum,pitch,2 decks is fine.Starting with 2 red round things, I went with $10 each on 2 spots. I stayed at that same table for..... wait for it.......8 HOURS!

Just breaks and donut runs,upstairs.B-4 long,I had $600 in round things in front of me,like a barricade.

Cocktails?"Corona, with no Lyme disease........

Back to small print? Hell,I got used to it.Now,I have to squint.

I was counting FIVES,but she dealt just 2/3 of the decks.

Blacked out around 2 AM and woke up with a lot of "hundies" in my pocket.Cool.

  I felt like DOOKIE!The Mt. Dew soda's helped.Ralph was out and about @ 7 AM.as usual.

All of the casino's had no-touch squirt stuff for your hands and I used it sometimes. The dealers changed the decks at threir usual pace. The chips were NOT washed, they were a bit sticky. The pit bulls handled my emties with a tissue.

Uber back to Mc Carran. Still a busy place. We  went through TSA clean.

We paid for the deluxe seats on Alaska Airlines, but they changed planes and we were is coach. I got a refund+ an apology $50 credit for my next flight(s).

Uber from SEA-TAC to my home and a few more beers in my own place. I slept for 12 hours.I'll do it again in the fall.Maybe the Boyd people will want me back.

No,I won't fix my typos.

Thanks.

Good TR, Thanks

No LYME disease?  Hey, the limes on Southwest were brown around the edges, worst G&T I've ever had.  And I think even the gin was bottom shelf.  Southwest...what a disappointment.  I proved part of my theory because I had forgot my carefully sliced lime wedges to bring from home just in case...left them home in the fridge.  7 days...brown around the edges!

Aargghh, but enjoyed your report a lot, especially the winnings you woke up to!

Oh, at the airport they pulled Scott's Clear Lax out to examine.  Hasn't happened before.  Years ago some TSA guy said powders are not a risk.   Whaa????  If anything....   Oh, well, it passed the test.   I told the young man that in about 40+ years he will know what Clear Lax is and why travelers "don't leave home without it."  LOL.

The possible-to-open windows at The Cal are secured by tamper-proof Torx screws.Bastards.

I'll try to slip more tools past the TSA next time. Looks like a T-30.

The bread pudding at The MSS buffet was wonderful! Not dried out at all. A little soft serve on top? YUM!

MGV BIG hand guns!

I declined to shoot that behemoth. It looks like it would hurt my hand.Ralph loved it.

Pack your limes in your carry-on,Candy.Lime juice maybe ,if it's TSA approved.

Rinse out a nasal spray container!Squirts out great!I just tried it.

That was my plan, Dave, to carry my carefully sliced limes on board, but my progressively forgetful self left them at home.  That's what proved my hypothesis...seven days later (still in home fridge) they looked like the ones on Southwest...brown around the edges.   Next I will need to determine if the zip lock bag material had any confounding effect.  Another hypothesis might involve the (at the time) looming financial disaster...which is now a reality (except for Charmin, P&G, anyone who sells TP).

And, yes, TSA waves me on by.  I always show the limes to the nice inspector, but they aren't interested.  Just in the Clear Lax.

Put the lime in the coconut? NO!  In my cocktail!
