A couple of firsts, and a second....the finale.

Hubby and I got changed for our 7:30 reservation at Gordon Ramsey Steak. I ate there solo with my diamond dinner last year and really wasn't impressed. In July we used hubby's voucher at Old Homestead, it was good but seemed awfully expensive, even with the $100 voucher we almost paid $200 more out of pocket for the 2 of us and that was with one glass of wine and one after dinner cocktail. Last July we tried BLT with one of our vouchers and it was ok but both our steaks were seared on the outside so much they tasted burned. BLT hadn't been open long so we'll have to give them another chance, we always try to go back to see if it was just a bad night. So, hubby had to been to GR so that's where we ate. Pet peeve, 2 top tables jammed too close together, GR Steak, guilty. We were squeezed into our small table and were seated next to "the complainers". This couple was also at a 2 top table and they were both larger people. They were eating their starter when we were seated so they'd been there a bit longer than we were. They were both served their steaks and she commented on how much she liked hers, but she only ate about half of it. He ate almost all of his and when the manager stopped to see how their meal was he proceeded to tell her it was sub par and that he'd been waiting 2 years to eat there and he could cook a better steak at home. The manager offered to get them new steaks, her fave was the American rib cap so they said yes and they ordered a different new side. Because we were crammed in like sardines we had to listen to the whole play by play. Our steaks arrived and again, it was ok but I've had way better filets at Mastros and Country Club Grill. Hubby said his strip was ok. During this time the manager checked back with the couple next to us to see how the liked their new steaks and he said better. He ate all of his, she ate 2 bites and asked for a box. Then they tell the waiter it was their anniversary so he brought them a sticky toffee pudding. We finished our meal before they did so I'm not sure what they ended up paying for. I can now say I've been to GR twice and I don't need to go back.

We still hadn't played on our free play that we picked up Friday so we went to the champagne slots and played the 2 $5 top dollar machines that are side by side. I ran my $70 through pretty quickly. Hubby put $200 of his in and hit a few winning lines but no bonuses. I told him lets each slip $100 in the machine and see what happened. He hit a few small bonuses and then boom, the bonus that locks things up and says call attendant. Here's the second.......w2 for him on the same machine (last year in Feb. he got one for $1,600). This win was a $1,650 win. This calls for an espresso martini and a bud light! I think he ended up cashing out at $2,000. Time to go to Ballys and darned if that same man that was on our machines last night is back, playing two machines. Hubby bounced around on the $1 top dollar and I put $100 in the king cash machine. I kept getting bonus after bonus and played quite awhile, eventually cashing out at $600, a nice $500 profit. We stop to talk to Andrew for a few minutes then we notice our machines are free so we play for awhile, not really doing much. Hubby ends up with 2500 tcs so he got the nice 5000 bump and I finished the day with 1000. Before bed we stop at Paris for triple double wild cherry, it's not kind so we pack it in around 1:00. Hubby said he'd personally like to thank Roger Daltrey for being sick because if he'd performed, hubby would have been playing at Caesars waiting for me to get out of the concert!

Sunday morning we sleep til after 8 and we wanted to play at Bellagio some so we get ready and go eat breakfast at the cafe at Bellagio. Thank goodness for our gold card and line cuts! I love their pancakes with berries, although 3 are way too much for me to eat. Hubby gets eggs but I give him one of my pancakes. After a nice breakfast we head to the $5 top dollar slots....no one has abandoned the machine after a bonus so we found the bank of $1 machines, I end up losing $200 pretty quickly but hubby is getting some bonuses so I wander off to some penny machines. I piddle around for an hour or so and find him still plugging away. I don't think he won anything and was down $100 but he played quite awhile. We decide we want to play cards, hubby doesn't do well at Ballys and I don't do well at Paris so we go to PHo. The only table we find 2 seats at is the hoochie pit, sorry, pleasure pit. We sit down and buy in for $200 ea. We play awhile and a guy with a VMB wristband sits down next to me so I asked if he was at the VMB craps table they had reserved Saturday night, he said yes and that they all had a good time. Hubby and I meant to go over there after dinner but at that time he was winning his w2g $$ so we didn't go watch. Next time. After losing at cards we go back to the machines we played yesterday but didn't have much luck. We decided to go back to the room and out in feet up.

When we were walking through Paris we decided to stop in the diamond lounge, boy was it packed. I didn't about the fact that people were in there watching pro football. We found one of the last tables open and had a quick drink. Back to the room for a little rest, then we played slots in the ooh la la quarters section for awhile, then back to the $1 machines that are on the outside I'd the champagne slots. We decide we're hungry so we go to burger brasserie to use the coupon we got when we checked in. We talked about how neither of us won a football bet on Saturday. He usually does pretty well on parlays, me, not so much. I KNOW better than to put Oklahoma on a parlay. Then who would have thought that Cal wouldn't cover the spread with tea and who EVER would have thought Alabama would LOSE! Damn. After dinner we piddle around on the $1 slots, then I played let it ride for awhile. We had an 7:30 a.m. flight so we didn't want to be out too late so we played slots til about midnight, then went and told Andrew we'd see him in February. He said "oh I'm sure I'll see you before then" and I said no, the DOL has screwed with h2b visas this year and has messed up my schedule so I would be busy processing my application in November, as opposed to October in previous years. We said goodbye, but, we had to go back to Paris for $5 top dollar again, and another espresso martini! The machine didn't remember how nice it had been to us the night before so off to pack and bed at midnight.

We get packed and go to bed and thankfully don't sleep through our wake up call. I text our host to tell her we're heading home. We hit the cab line and the cab driver says, "I'll take the freeway". Seriously? Hubby says, no, if you don't know how to get there the back roads I can tell you how to go. So what does the a hole do? Drives 30 mph to jack up the fare. Needless to say he didn't get much of a tip. I normally tip well if I'm not taken advantage of (we were once long hauled from Mandalay to the airport!). No line at the sky cap so that went quickly, then there were 3 people in front of us at TSA pre check so that was quick and painless. We hit Ethel M for our box of candy and head to our gate. As usual I slept from push back to wheels down. We were home and had retrieved the pooch from the puppy spa by 2:00. I ended up with more $$ coming home so I had to pay to get he came out of the airport, the pooch and pizza.

We had charged Friday's dinner at the cafe and the burger brasserie to the room so it was about $100. I got w text from our host saying she'd comped everything. Nice.

So, remember Andrews parting words? Guess who's going back in November? Just me! My boss and his wife are going to a wedding the first weekend of November, which is 7 days before our immigration processing begins. He first tells me they're going to Vegas then a week later says they're not. I tell him that I could go with his wife, she's supposed to be in the wedding, and me could stay home with the boys. He laughed. Then we read about the carry over points that TR is doing between October and December. Hubby says "you should go" I say us? He says no, you. So I send the host an email to see if she can use one of my offers st Ballys and she says yes, $100 free play and $50 dining credit. Free seat on SWA and I'm booked! Then the day after I make those reservations, boss texts me and asks me my fave 3 restaurants, the trip is back on. I ask what flight they're on, 2:45, same as me. I had told them before they should get a lake view suite at Bellagio for their first time there so they did. I'm just going for the weekend, come home Sunday but they'll stay til Monday. We may try to have dinner Friday or Saturday night but I told him I didn't want to impose on their weekend with no kids! We'll see.

I guess there will be a new trip report next month.

Excuse all the typos, I'm doing this on my iPad!
Very nice! Thanks for the report as well as for the report of all of your gaming action and the nice hits.

As for the rotten Taxi driver who drove at 30MPH to jack up the fare, you should have just reported him to the LV Taxicab Authority.

RecVPPlayer
I wish I had thought about that at the time RecVPPlayer. I reported the one that long hauled us from Mandalay.
Great info, cabbies are hit & miss. I have a funny cabbie story in my trip report this week. Thanks

Looking forward to it Bobby!
Woot great TR. Glad you get to return to the Happy Place.
