Dave went downtown.

Downtown Grand was the hotel.

Mostly,no good luck at gambling, should be the first line.

Food,Corona's,gambling, a massage and the hotel room.

The 17th:

Airport was busy, casinos were busy, hotel was busy.

Got in around 4 PM and we both(Ralph & I) had to eat.

Freedom beat for eggs,etc.

I had the special.

Lotsa beef, but it was a little tough.

We messed around with the VP there. Only TWO 9/6 machines!

He blew through $40 and I went through $100. No quads. Boo!

6 Coronas.

Monday,the 18th:

Eggs downstairs and another brutal VP session.

We wanted to try the El Cortez blackjack.6 decks, normal rules.

I took a $150 hit over 3 hours,Ralph did a little less worse.

We decided to go shoot some guns at The Gun Store, but the person said that the driver called in sick. Yeah, right.     We Uber it down to East Tropicana and the place is empty. Cool.

We decided on our hand guns and we both bought a double dose of rounds.Paid $60,each.

Grab your ear&eye protection and go back to the indoor range.

I'm a rookie ,but Ralph is not. I shot first.

Too much to learn, all at once!

Our instructor showed me the correct grip and hammer pulls and stance. SAFETY first.

Revolver for me,Ralph chose a 40 caliber semi.

It took a long time for me to go through 36 rounds in my 38.

Instructions, all of the way!  I shot OK,but got better.

When Ralph's 40 went off,the percussion was insane! I had to step out of the room and look through the glass door. He shot well and was given much less instructions.

It was great fun to learn so much in an hour.

We Uber it back to downtown.

Hungry again and we went back to the El Cortez for dinner.

 Seigal's 1941.  Utterly fantastic dinner!

He had sompin' that was good while I went through a pulled pork sandwich, like a crazed cave person.  Ask for the dessert menu and try the house-made Bourbon bread pudding with ice cream on top.

It blew us both away.I even had coffee,afterwards-superb.

We walked to The Plaza to see what was up. AGC coupon ready.

"Plaza Party Pit" BJ and roulette by ladies with a lot of cleavage. We were in.

We both dumped on both games, but we paid for our entertainment.

I was so distracted,I didn't see the BJ pay out until MUCH later.5:6. DOOWH!

Roulette was more normal, but I still dumped $160 :same numbers and no luck, there.

8 Corona's.

Tuesday:78* for the high.Nice.

Triple George for "breakfast".AGC coupon ready.

Free appetizer with an entre.(SP) The cashier had never seen that coupon and it was cleared by her manager.

We ordered and I took a smoke break and wandered next door to the biker bar.

They have bra's there, above the bar.

Upon returning for my food,I noticed a very familiar face coming out of the main dining area.

Derek Stevens shook my hand. That made my day!

2 golf ball sized beatballs. Good!

We both felt better.

Back to the El Cortez for some massages.Second floor. Ralph's back needed help and my feet were hurting.

$60 and $30. We paid cash and was led back to our respective rooms.  The nice Aisian lady said "take off all of your clothes" to which I replied,"Im just getting a foot massage".  OK,I take off 15 pounds of clothes and lay on the table with a towel in a *very* darkened room.  My personsal therapist was a guy and started with my neck and shoulders, after my feet were put in a tub of warm water. We finished up and I put all of my clothes back on and wandered out. The guy was HUGE and I tipped a small amout.Worth it!

Back to the Downtown Grand for more abuse.

V.P.:-$200,Craps:-$140. Those 2 sessions took 5 hours.

8 Corona's.

Wednesday:RAIN.

Freedom Beat for breakfast fries and 2 (Left over)green beers.

He wandered off to do something and I went back to my 9/6 VP.-$60 ,gacck!

He was at the BJ tables,so I joined him.My mistake!

Read the rules,Dave. Continous shufflers are not good, after 1/2 hour of play.

8 Corona's.

Off to see the 4 Queens. My FIRST of 2 quads!

Well,it was too bloody noisy in there, even with ear plugs.

We didn't do Magnolia's,this time.

2 more Corona's.

I was planning to do the zoom line, but the line was too long.Too intoxicated anyway.

Done for the day.

Thursday is departure day.

My hang over was exquisite.

A Corona for breakfast @ Binion's Diner with some terrible soup.

"I've had enough of this town."

Mc Carran was busy,too.

The flight was OK,but I forgot to take a stoll in the isle when we leveled off,so my anckles got swollen up

badly and they itched so much that I couldn't sleep!  I survived 'Vegas and the A320.

(*Spell check is NOT working*)

Downtown Grand: I'll say NO!

Poor gamble.

Weird room with no pens or stationary or even a phone book.We didn't request housekeeping at all.

Non-intuitive HVAC controls(Lame fan speed) and the windows do not open.I smoked in the bathroom.

The beds were great and the shower door was 1/2 finished.

On our last day the casino host,Denise Ortega offered me a $60 food comp, but the kiosk said NO.

I'll try again in October and it will be IN downtown.

I played black jack at the MSS and maybe the Boyd's boys will surprise me.

The Plaza owes me as well.Maybe the El Cortez. Not The Golden Butt-nugget.

I/we will never go there during some drinking holiday again.

The entire downtown area was rife with out patients.

No Halloween,New Years Eve or Cinco De CA CA.

Thanks for the report.

I am still stuck on why you had to take off all your clothes for a foot massage? LOL

I think I would have protested!

Thanks for your Trip Report, maybe you will win next trip.I always post Derek sightings in my TRs, heading out April 17-23, again Thanks.

Yes,that was strange. I got a lot of work done for just a foot massage for $30.

Shoulders,back,neck and legs.

Maybe they charged me more or there was a mis communication.

The best of good luck to you,Bobby! You are going on Easter weekend,so you may find the crowds that we endured. California tourists,oh my!

My buddy remarked that he did not have any body guards or even a buddy with him. I'm sure that he was doing some business deal at The Triple George. He looks like a 1911 packing guy.His hands are huge.

I was happy to meet THE MAN.

I'll go again in October,mid-week.

You are Super Cool Dave, will post TR on our return to Smithville.

Perhaps your experience was different than mine. It was good, but not a universal cosmic revelation,so far.

Thanks for the TR Dave.  I am hoping you have better luck next trip.

Maybe that kiosk knew you smoked in the bathroom.  "No soup for Dave."  LOL.

Next trip you'll be up for some better luck.   Thanks for the TR!

We were in a smoking room with no windows that opened!

Smoking habits with my friends is almost ZERO.

1 person in 20 does cigarettes, among my friends.

That habit is on it's way to be out of favor, more and more.

Washington State is passing a bill to restrict smoking or tobacco use  to persons 21 and older.

NO teen smoking!/vaping!

*(Spell check is NOT working,again)*

Some 'Vegas casinos table games are NON-smoking.It's about time.

Casinos in my State have NO smoking rooms or sections.

Weed? I couldn't care any less. It's legal here as well.
