Left work early to get to the Portland (OR) airport just in case security would take a long time to get through, turns out I was able to go through the Pre TSA line and made it through in under five minutes. Had Panda Express at the airport and looked around. My favorite bakery has left, replaced with another similar bakery and now we have a McDonald's (already open) and Burgerville (my favorite, coming soon) in place of the previous Wendy's locations.
Waited over an hour and finally was able to board the flight which arrived 10 minutes late but otherwise it was fine. In no time caught the shuttle to the car rental facility and got upgraded to a Nissan Altima (loaded.) Took me awhile to figure out I just need to hit the brake and a button to turn it on/off, no key. Had to make a detour to K-Mart, since in my rush this morning I left my medicine at home and had an emergency supply waiting for me. The pharmacist went out of his way to help me get my prescriptions transferred over to give me my meds and they didn't have one of my medications in the dose that I take, so he gave me a different dose, cut the tablets and didn't charge me for them, really nice. Made my usual stops at Target and Dollar Tree to get the items I always do, didn't get any munchies, I would regret that later. I also discovered that I left my LVA book and my glasses at home, which is a real bummer since I wanted to use the coupons on this trip. I'm blind without my glasses so I will have to have both of them mailed to me, since I'm here for 11 days.
Checked into Casino Royale, I'm here on a comp offer with $100 in free play. Played the first $20 through, broke even. Second $20 hit 4 Aces (.25) for $200, and remembered to hit my change button for the extra $25 from one of my coupons. Played some really bad STP and Ultimate X poker and lost. Decided to get dinner at Outback since I had comps. Ate dinner, salad was great, since it was served really cold and my prime rib dinner was average Outback fare.
Went back and played more, hit 4 aces (.25) again this time in DDB with a kicker. Played some more, almost too much, but was lucky to hit a third set of aces in BP (in $1) so I ended up for the evening around $600 total after all the playing I did. Not bad since I only had $80 in my wallet (I didn't stop at the bank) when I got here and now have over $700.
Walked around the Venetian just a bit, I wanted some cookies from Grand Lux, but didn't want to wait 30 minutes tonight, maybe tomorrow. I will have to remember to buy milk tomorrow. Back to Casino Royale and now I'm ready to go to bed.
