dear diary 2

sunday morning 7-24. denise and i hit the flamingo pool at 8:15 to save seats. there already
is a line forming. we saved four chairs up by the dj in the shade. there will be enough sun
for the trip. we went to the cafe for breakfast which was good.

the girls came down to the pool around 10:30 and were there for about three hours. i gambled
a bit inside the flamingo. this is not a gamboling trip for me.

we headed downtown in the early afternoon. i wanted to go by the pawn store that's on
tv but must not have been on the right road.

we parked at main street station. all the girls had lunch in the 777 brew pub. they liked their food.
i got a card and played for a bit. didn't hit anything. took julia, sarah, and jamie into the men's room for a photo shoot with the berlin wall.

we walked through the california out to fremont. hit golden gate for my shrimp. sarah and i played
craps for $20 each. i hit one number, sarah threw it off the table once, and we both lost our buy-in.
kept walking and went to fitz to play roulette. again, i gave julia and sarah $ to play. i also played.
i hit my first bet for $35, but ps'd it away. we all lost our buy-in.

sarah and i were set on going on the zip line. we looked at it from the end of fremont at the plaza
and it didn't look so bad. it's all the way down near el cortez. as we walked closer i saw that the
starting point was about 100 feet in the air. i told sarah nope, i'm not zipping today. I think she
was happy and said she wouldn't do it either.

we walked back and i bought four deep fried twinkies at mermaids. i'm a big spender. denise put
$3 in a dollar machine and hit for $150 on her first pull. it was in coins. i cashed those in for her.
that was about her only gambling for the trip.

we went back to flamingo to change to go to love at 9:30. we ate at the mirage buffet before the
show and everyone enjoyed the meal. i like that they only have small portions out and are
cooking the rest in back so it doesn't just sit there.

was in line for love an hour early. the entrance has some nice places to take pictures. we went to
the store and jamie bought a t-shirt. they let us line up for about 20 minutes before letting us into
the theater so you could buy a $10 water/soda or $18 drink. we passed.

i once again took gregrio's advice on his tr's and bought 209 seats. just left of center, but we saw
everything we should except the big canape bit. we were just below that to enjoy it.

when we first got to the theater all the girls went to the rest room and i went down to our seats.
i noticed right away that five 34-50 women to my left had been over served and were already
noisy. i sat the farthest from them as i know they would get to me. julia, my oldest, sat next
to them and had to ask them to quiet down during the show. she's like me and won't say a
thing. i heard them and felt bad for her.

i liked the show except for the last 10 minutes. it dragged a bit for me. i think i will go online
and buy the cd for the show.

after the show denise and i walked to caesars for tanqueray and tonics at the bar to the right of the check-in. nice and relaxing. she noticed there was a guy at the bar smoking a cigar. i think that
we don't go to places that allow smoking(wisconsin)that we really notice when someone is smoking.

we head back to flamingo and hit the hay at 12:30. wild times!

after love the three girls had walked through the mirage and were approached by a gent who was offering two free drinks at king ink. they said absolutely and went in. he didn't tell them about
the $20 to get in, but drinks were at least $15 apiece, so they made out okay.

the day before the girls were approached by a gent who asked if they wanted to get into
the ghost bar. they said sure. he gave him his card and texted a message that they had
to show at the entrance to get in. they did not go last night and texted the same guy and
asked if they were still invited. he replied yes, so they cabbed it to the palms and went up
to the ghost bar. they said it was a great time. i saw some pics. i'm glad there were
three of them to take care of each other. i'm a guy. they're my daughters.

they got back to flamingo about 3:30.

Wow, Wayne! Very nice! Thanks for posting Part 2 of your diary entry!

It's very nice that Denise got a $150 hit on her first pull of the slot machine and then completely stopped playing! It takes good Discipline to stop like that since many, many people start thinking that when they win that they are from then on playing with "The Casino's Money!" That just isn't true!

I'm happy that your daughters are having a nice time and getting to party some.

As for that Fremont Street Zipline, I've looked at it myself and it definitely is not for me!

I'm now looking forward to reading Part 3 of your diary entry!

Very nice t/r and thanks for all the detail you have put into it. Sounds like your whole group had a great trip. Looking forward to your next installment.

Too funny about your ghost bar attitude. Dads are always so protective. Thanks for the diary read.
