I look forward to this every year because the coupons rock and the ECLVA gather like pigeons to a loaf of day old bread. I got 2 nights at Caesars and a night @ Trump for John, my “on 3 month trail probation “ possible casino husband.
Again, he wanted to leave at 8am.
I was fine w/ that but my elevator is out, being replaced and I had to drag my suitcase down 5 flights of stairs. You would think overnight wasn’t going to be heavy yet I had several Starbuck frappachios, Sobe lifewaters, twinkies,a chinese soup container of M&M peanuts, powerbars and 3 cosmetic bags.
Liquids weigh a ton.
We stopped for a fiber bagel w/ egg and flew there.
I listened to Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and Mr. 50 (Fiffy) Cent- not by choice. His Ipod doesn’t have any Barry Manilow. His Ipod is on his smart phone. Again, I don’t like his texting and driving so he tried to get me to work his phone but I get frustrated w/ learning and his girls-de-jour texts are just not important to me. In fact, they are lame and I said so. Flirting by text goes over my head. I should have written her: “Hi, I’m 55 and your man is coming to AC w/ me you dope.”
I hope I never have to use the street slang I learned. (Yes, I asked questions: what’s a glock, Slingin’ roc, To cap means what again?) to interrupted the music as much as possible, in fact. I knew all the answers. It’s English, you just drop the last syabile as in Po-po are po-lice
It’s that rap or annoying constant house music. Note to self:- bring your MP3 player next time.
We were there at 10am. Our (both our names on both rooms just in case) room at TP was not ready as our room at Caesars wasn’t either but I made my plea for a suite w/ a Jacuzzi at the front desk which I did get later. Ms. Collins was the checkinlings name and I will be writing her supervisor a letter of commedation today- she was lovely to work with, aware, attentive and funny to boot. Yay!
After bell checking my luggage, I found Mr. O, Cathy, Catherine (Kip)and Dave at Café Roma so we chatted and caught up. This was a crazy trip as so many of us were there. I am willing to trade any food or drink coupon for the Spa coupons and many of my fellow east coasters were generous enough to give me their $50.00 spa coupons w/o me even having my booklet yet. I went to play some but lost right away and Caesars was so crowded that I figured I should play some at TP so John found me at LOTR’s after a good “Big Win” bonus and I lost it back at STP (where he lost $40.00)-
Found Kip and Mr. “O” at our Bally's 10 coin poker machines.. Mr. “O” was playing dollars, Kip had to leave so I took her machine when after a time Ken&Lyn were upstairs saying there was no line for the D. Booklet so I flew up there and we traded coupons. It went from 1 to 3pm and Stu finally showed up. Louie made him make chicken pot pies from scratch and buzzkilled his casino wife time all morning.
We played side by side on the dollar BP (Turns out Flips lucky machine is my favorite too.. (the first one) and saw the lucky devil who hit the JOB for $4,279.00. I was winning, then I lost- Stu made a nice profit off his FP and went to find Louie (an hour early) he’s so blonde like me.
I went back to check in and got room 8015 Ocean Tower- right then John called and joined me so he carried- er, um rolled the luggage to the suite. The room had a doorbell, marble foyer, couch, chaise and the bathroom was da bomb-dizzle—2 counters, 2 sinks, large Jacuzzi, mirrored closet w/ safe, hangers and ironing board, a second room w/ steam shower and toilet with triple Olive products from Caesars in Las Vegas… oh yea!
We barely had time to run to T.P., get his room (3317) the tickets my host held for me (Long Live The Beatles) starring the Mahoney Brothers, a 4PM show; get our free drinks (water and ginger ale w/ cranberry) and sit down 3rd or 4th row.
Yes, I like my dinners and show early bird style and John lost at Poker so he was willing to go. I give it a solid B or B+ as they sing and play their own instruments. The crowd, however; was Night of the Living Dead but we both enjoyed it except for the last song which was “Hey, Jude”- Hate that ponderous dirge/knew it was coming- John was fine walking out on it. I didn’t want to get tangled up in the walkers and wheelchairs crowd.
We played a bit- lost, smoked a cigarette. Found a nickel WOO, hit for $269.00 right away (got 11 emeralds to pick from) and ate at Kwi; the diamond booklet was buying.
Mmmmm, Those amazing scallops wrapped in bacon we spilt, I had a seafood basket/ John had Beef Chow Fun- we split everything, including the coconut ice cream Row turned me onto 3 years ago.
4.5 burps
John went his way and I went mine. Flip and I had been texting, I hadn’t seen him yet but at 7PM I decided to take a constitutional on the Boardwalk to Resorts where I made $15.00 on my FP, then got involved in a struggle to retain it on Stinkin’ Rich—I hit a 30 round Free Spin bonus at 8:18PM and knew I had to be at TP at 8:30 pm but money is money- Almost every TITO machine is out of order so the cashier lines were insanely long and slow and I got cranky- then I hump it in the fog and wind to TP, only 3 minutes late.. That’s one quick hump (LOL)
Wanted to show Flip & Karen the 2 new 40 Dolphin penny machines but there were down (!?!?)
I suspect TP is floundering cuz it's got the same deperate feel as the LVH.
We played VP side by side. Flip got 5 quads in 20 minutes and.. well… I didn’t. Karen quit and read her Nook/ the boyz (Mr. O and Bob) showed up w/ brandy sniffers in hand.
It was half past 10, I was fading I left to go next door to my pretty room- filled up the tub w/ bath salts/conditioner and soaked. It’s funny…when I bring snacks I don’t crave them.
Meanwhile John called to ask what his room number was (3317)- He came in second in the evening poker tourney cashing $200.00 Whoo-hoo.
Bed was 11:45
Poor me/ up at 4:40am—made myself try to sleep til 5:15. Made 2 pots of coffee which I enhance w/ Starbucks vias and puttered in my room til 6:30am.
Monday 04/11
Fresh and ready for action. I played some odd penny machines waiting for bonus rounds when I got a text from Kip (“coming down/ B there by 8:30am”) whoo-hoo! I played Aztec something/ Zesus, WOO, Jumpin Jalapenos, carting around my grapefruit juice and coffee- Kip found me and Mr. “O” We did a $200.00 group play on Dreamcard w/ Bob’s money even though he never made it there- Kip played and I directed…3 hands of Triple double quarters, deuces 5-play dimes, DDB 10-play, etc.. we only got one quad- Boo/hiss.
Mr. “O” took a 6 pull shot of 3-coin $10.00 Final Offer in the HR room- John found us. Time for breakfast- party of 9 at S6X. The lines were insane, the place busy and I have to give our waiter credit for prompt and correct service of all orders.
Diamond comes in handy, less waiting. John was confused how we all had comps and coupons- none of us had to pay except for tips, welcome to the ECLVA
BTW, we figured out who John looks like- Johnny Mathis, now I just got to get him to learn the words to Chances Are...
John had raisin bran and scrambled eggs- Mr.”O” had the fruit and yogurt platter w/ a side of bacon w / iced coffee. We got to toast Flip for his birthday and finally talk some. Mr.”O” treated me (He was LRFB), the rest of us pooled our diamond booklets and assorted coupon and discounts. John was amazing he didn’t pay anything for anything but that’s how we suck them newbies in, huh??? LOL
Flip, Kip and I had FP at Borgata so us, Karen & John got in Kips Hello Pepto-Bismol pink Kitty-mobile- where by accident I gave Kip my card, only had Stu’s- had to get a new card, John got bored of following me, played live poker- I never saw anyone again but had a nice session of .25 cent Quick Quads cashing out $350.00.
Found John losing the last of his chips and got him his first and only I’m sure Jitney ride. He apparently distains public transportation but wanted to be back at Caesars for a 1pm Tourney (which didn’t start til 3pm as it turned out) I jumped off the Jitney at Resorts for my other FP- texting Kip my every move…
Again my phone rings and it’s John (what’s the room number again?) I loaded my $20.00 FP into a 50 Lions in honor of Louie who taught me the game- I got 2 bonus rounds and hit a bunch of spinning blue diamond’s for every line netting me $11.00 so cashed out $178.00 and turned that into $254.00 on 50 Dolphins- who knew there were 50 Dolphins..? That’s 10 better than 40 Dolphins, right? LOL.
I walked thru Taj- it’s been YEARS—it’s nice and they kept up their machine inventory – the Ocean was all violent choppy waves and there was very little beach. I wonder if that was high tide or the left-over Tsunami – from the walkway Taj-to-Showboat..what a sight!
Kip found me smoking in the HR area playing Quick Hits. She played her FP and I held my own on a DDB. We walked back to TP but Kip wanted to see my suite so we diverted through to Caesars. The fog was lifting, the sun was shining and it was suppose to be 80 degrees but there was a strong breeze; still, walking was nice/refreshing. Kip got Sketchers too!
We did our FP at TP (Kip netted $11.25/ I netted +$5.00) when John called me, telling me he wanted to see me. We said our goodbyes, Kip walking back to Showboat. John didn’t want anything in the poker room except to say “hi” and it was the only time I was cross w/ him. Grrrrrr. You don’t pull me off a nice machine in a different casino for a whim.
On the other hand,
@ Caesars nowI won a bonus round on Jumpin’ Jalapeno’s and parlayed that TITO to $200.00 hitting a 5X S.F. on Ultimate X nickels for 2,000 credits so I got over it. I was making back today everything I lost yesterday. We decided to eat at either Arturos or the DL- again, I would give John his choice after viewing both menus but I double bolted the room door.
(BTW, the door was ajar when I got upstairs, I thought it was Kip but she’s a casino veteran and wouldn’t make that mistake, John ‘fessed up/he admitted he was here last…thank God we were at the end back corner and no one had come in)
I snuck in another mid-day Jacuzzi bath, washing my hair and soaking my back for an hour while John lost at poker. When I texted him, he was at the Taj Arcade walking.
He came back, I showed him how to make coffee (he said his was weak this morning) He turned off Shirley McLane on Oprah to flip and flip settling on Law&Order (men!) I didn’t say a word because I was putting on makeup and we were both tired and how important is it anyway…?
We decided to eat,. Play a little then leave to go home that night.
The line at Caesars DL was 20 deep. John offered to stand it in so I could play but I was starving so off to Bally’s where the food wasn’t very appealing (except for split pea and ham soup Mmmmmm) so I used $85.00 of coupons at Arturo’s. We both just got one entre but John was thrilled w/ his milk-fed veal and I treated myself to a $47.00 filet minion…migon ? Heaven. We both had water. We are both on Weight Watchers and we’re very happy w/ the meal. I don’t think John has ever been treated. Honestly, he looked at me w/ dazed food-love in his eyes.
I understand this; food goes a l-o-n-g way w/ me too. I believe his milk-fed-veal was on pare to his coming in second poker win to him.
I liked him more this trip- and he is a good guy to know. We are both more comfortable w/ each other and he REALLY likes the guy who asked me to a Wedding next week- likes and respects him. John all of a sudden became a clapping romantic thinking of me and this guy in the long haul- thinking we would “be PER-FECT” for each other (whoa boy, it’s one date) but truth be told, the guy did find me on the Shore Promenade the day after I told him I walk it on weekend mornings…..
P.S. Did you know Tupac uses orchestral strings and is very melodic, who knew that?
I got home a little after 10PM inviting John to a meeting Tuesday as we were both off work but he suggested we upgrade my piece-of-shit phone and promised me to meet him at the Verizon store after the meeting. I tried to get out of it by saying I wanted to walk home but he almost practically forced me in the car and I got a 2011 Intensity ll for $29.00 more- but this morning I didn’t know how to unlock it to call work as someone committed suicide in front of my train line and I had to walk 30 blocks in the rain in pantyhose w/ a crappy broken umbrella so I was gonna be late. I asked the first young person who walked into work and she showed me how to unlock it.
And another one showed me how to charge it up. I didn’t take insurance. John can’t believe in 4 years I have never dropped my phone.
I lost about $600.00
Guessing John lost $300/$400 but I accrued $400.00 worth of spa coupons, saw a show, had 3 nice meals, 2 Jacuzzis and got to see so many pals plus I know how to rap now.
LOL
Thanks for reading.
