Dogs on the playing floor and beind held at the machines in Paris!!!

I was playing at Gustauv's bar recently when a loud altercation took place between two women over a small dog being held in a blanket on the shoulder of one woman while she was playing the VP progressive. It got VERY loud. One was complaining about her allergies. Later I saw an average small dog sleeping by a penny slot near the Eifel tower gift shop. These were not medical dogs.

As I looked out my window one morning around 5 I actually saw a couple swimming with their LARGE dog IN THE POOL! It was dark and it was definately a dog swimming with one person while the other person waited with a towel.

I know there are pet-friendly floors. But, does anyone know if this is something that is now okay? I knowmy husband willNOT play thereanymore if they are going to let animals be in the pool and on the floor.
Unless you asked the person, how do you know it was not a service dog? Not all service dogs are for blind people. There are people with no VISIBLE handicap who have service dogs. There is one man who has a tiny dog he pushes around in a baby stroller, and I see him in casinos frequently. In the past, I recall a woman who carried a small dog in the casino. Before making judgments, you should ask casino security and get the facts.
I saw a man w/ a dog playing VP at Monte Carlo--I mean he couldn't have been blind, ya know? felt sorry for the dog.. what an awful lot of noise to put up w/ not to mention constant smoke and drunks..
Several casino hotels (GVR and Flamingo) have pet friend rooms.

Sheesh Video's husband.. live and let live huh? what is the racio between humans to dogs in a casino anyway.....?? 30,000 to 1?
Pity the dogs; their ears and noses are so much more sensitive than ours..
The ADA used to recognize "comfort" dogs but no longer does. I assume it was because so many abused it. The regulations changed last year.

We saw the most amazing thing on a flight to Anchorage last year. At the airport gate, we saw a family of five (three kids from about 4 to 8) that had a service dog that was a harlequin great dane, a huge dog and young, not more than two or three years old, had that gangly look of a growing puppy. Everybody was staring at this dog, the father had it, and it had a custom harness on with a quite-short thick strap and his hand was only a few inches from the dog.

We did a lot of speculation and my sister who is a flight attendant and sees many things, said she thought the father had a degenerative disease and used the dog to help balance himself. The dog was incredibly trained for one so young, so very calm in the hubbub, stayed very close to the man's side. And, once our flight took off, my sister walked back to see where they were sitting, and said the dog was curled up in their row to the size of her doxie (service dogs are supposed to be trained to curl up in an airplane, didn't know that). Heard nothing from any of them for the whole flight. It was a wonderful thing to see.
Don't know about the regulations in USA but in the province of British Columbia service dogs normally wear a "vest" that indicates they are a working service dog. My niece has a service dog for their autistic son and they can take the dog into stores, to the beach, etc as long as the dog is wearing her vest that clearly states it is a service dog. These dogs are very well trained and behaved - the people getting these dogs have to undergo training before they are approved to have such a dog and then undergo yearly followup to ensure the dog is being used properly ( it costs several thousand dollars to train to handle the situations /people they are designed for)
I own a Health Food Store for Dogs, I have a Weimaraner that comes with us pretty much everywhere and is very well behaved. We travel with him alot, although I would never let him sit in the smoke filled casino. He says home when we visit Vegas

I have many service dogs "in training" visit the store...it's amazing what these animals can do!
Yes, Service dogs Are suppose to wear the Vest if to be Allowed inside the casino or elsewhere.

Those dog owners that have their dogs on leashes inside the casino, that only have their
dogs there as Hotel guests? Are bending the rules or ignoring them for their own selfishness,
just like parents that try to get away with playing in the casino while their kids stand nearby.

I think hotels & casinos need to crack down.

Yes, they've made concessions with doggie friendly hotel accomodations.........
but that Doesn't mean the dogs are welcome in the casinos OR Pools!

How about 2 dogs sitting on their owner's lap at a table at Harrahs' Starbucks? They were drooling ,not to mention the dog hair flying around. I saw this last month in Vegas. As a former dog owner for many years I cannot imagine doing that - always boarded them or left them with the older kids.

I completely agree with CLV. I don't think videos was being judgemental at all. We would all be screaming bloody hell if it were kids sitting in laps at the tables, or at VP.

If they truely cared about the pets, they wouldn't have them in the casino. If they cared about the rules or other PEOPLE, they wouldn't have a dog swimming in the hotel pool....notice it was very early before security was around. They knew it was against the rules and didn't care. All this adds up to selfish & rude, pure and simple.

I really don't like dogs, even tho I've tried. The biggest mistake you can make is assume that everyone loves your dog as much as you do. Same goes for kids, and I have 3 of those!
