Unless you asked the person, how do you know it was not a service dog? Not all service dogs are for blind people. There are people with no VISIBLE handicap who have service dogs. There is one man who has a tiny dog he pushes around in a baby stroller, and I see him in casinos frequently. In the past, I recall a woman who carried a small dog in the casino. Before making judgments, you should ask casino security and get the facts.

Sue says the swimming dog is actually a personal lifeguard on duty.

My post referred only to the dog in the casino. Not the swimming pool. He had no business being in the pool, lol.
In case anyone is really interested, I DID speak to both owners of the dogs I observed.

The very small about 6 inch no hair dog that the loud argument was about was a woman's mother's "baby" that it was almsot it's time to go to the restroom and the mom (on a walker where she kept the dog in the seat) didn't want to go back upstairs to get the dog and the dog was so scared she felt she needed to comfort it, she decided to play until it was time for the dog to go.

I spoke to the man with the small white poodle laying by the slot as he played, and he said his wife had gone shopping and the dog was barking and he couldn't leave it in the room because of complaints. I also spoke to two security guards and they told me if the person had a medical card the dogs could be in the casino with them.

My host was very upset when I spoke about what I saw in the pool. He asked me for the date and time and was going to report it to security.

I do NOT make unfounded random rationalizations and judgements. This is one of the reasons why I usually only read instead of STATING FACTS!!!!!

Dogs being man's best friend, I find them far more desirable in the casino than many of the patrons. Assuming they are not button slappers, that is. Or play multiple machines at the same time.
Videos - Don't worry about some people being snarky. Ususally this board is better than that, but not always. I sometimes don't understand why people can't be nice even if they have another opinion, or slam someone without asking for more details either. I imagine they wouldn't be so quick to judge in person, so easy to be snippy via the internet.

Don't let it keep you from posting. Really. Plenty of room on the board for nice people.

I have never considered taking my dog to a casino. I don't think she would like it, and I would worry about her the entire time. I don't mind when I see other people with a dog, although I have never seen one in a casino, working or otherwise. I like the live and let live theory.
Have also seen a blind person playing VP with dark glasses and cane... person sitting beside them was helping but the blind guy was hitting the buttons.

Whats next? Dogs playing Texas hold'em? (I'd like to see a picture of that)
Wait a second. A health food store for dogs? A health food store for an animal that will eat its own #2s. Okay, now I've heard everything.
I'd rather have dogs on the casino floors than kids. I do feel sorry for the dogs being exposed to the loud noises. Dogs and children should be left at home.
