downtown and Sam's, August 2015

Fun read, Jon. loved seeing that screen of Lil Red. that sure was a lot of them!! Sad to see the LVC. we have many fond memories there over the last 30 plus years.

I didn't know you played Frogger!?? fun game back in the day. live on Boulder Highway maybe not so much!

Glad you recouped most of your $200 cups of coffee. Loved seeing all the nice VP hits too. and way to score on the 7x points at Sam's!

Looking forward to your next trip report!
Thanks, Linda. Yeah, lots of good memories from the LVC (including a $1250 hit on a 30 cent bet on Life of Luxury, thanks again for that advice!), it was tough to watch that slow death over the past three or four years.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the point multiplier at Sam's, and I have it again for November and December; some people had suggested that it was a "we want you back" offer, but I'm still getting it. Glad they're more generous than the downtown Boyd properties.

Maybe you can write the next trip report...
I'm looking forward to Sam's Town multiplier and also MSS point multiplier in Feb.!! Just got the Cosmo free room offer to cover FEb, so of COURSE have to fit that in!
Seems like Boyd is getting more generous with the point multipliers; they never used to do that much, at least not downtown. Of course, the room offers are getting tight; I've gone from 3 nights comp for years, to 20% off rack rate, even with higher coin-in.

Cosmo sure treats you well, Linda. Maybe we'll drop by and use your room and some of your money.

I definitely miss LVC and really was sad seeing it go to pot and close down!

As for Sam's, maybe they're offering that stuff to you because not only are you from out of state, but also that place is away from a lot of other competing action and its location could make it more likely for people to leave the property less of the time.

I'm now seeing from information that I've received from El Cortez that they will be having a special "Chanukah Menu" from December 6 through December 14th, 2015 from I think 5PM-11PM, for $17.95.

It's on from 5PM-10PM and I see that Ice Cream for dessert is an option and so the group should be aware that this (a combination of Meat and Dairy) would make things not Kosher.
