Flew in Thursday Sept 6 about 930- About 40 mins to make it through the airport and car rental. Dollar loves to try to add many other charges. Must be brutal trying to up sell everyone.
Checked in for the 3 night comp @ the D. Reno'd room. New beds, bedding and tv's are WAY better. Everything else...meh. Used the 241 burger coupon in ACG in the cafe. Turkey, chicken, salmon, beef ect.... burgers were ok. They ditched the kettle cooked chips (BOO!) for shoe string fries. Fries were undercooked.
Bailey's and coffee @ El Cortez for some people watching. Pedicures and manicures... shopped a bit. Hit Lotus of Siam (off strip and a hidden gem) in the afternoon for breakfast/lunch. Food was wonderful! The curry dishes are great, many veggie options. Service is lacking, so busy poor staff are almost running. Cashier/hostess served us and still watched the front desk.
The Flame for dinner... got in right awhile was pretty busy. I had the daily fish special (mahi mahi on a bed of spinach) and my favorite veggies~ onion rings and mushrooms! BF had the prime rib. Used the LVA coupon $30 off.. what a great value for decent food.
Bailey's and coffee again in the D keno lounge. Ellis cortez breakie comped, hashbrowns are awesome (peppers, onions and real pototoes) and perfect basted eggs! BF's sausage smelled and looked nasty~ he said it was spiced.
Off to Hoover dam to check out the new over pass/ bridge. BF needed to see it. Stab me in the eye and kill me dead! What a waste of time, napped on the 30min drive out. To my surprize....Wow! It was worth the trip~ SHOCKER! That baby is huge! Walked half way out on it. Makes the Hoover Dam look small. Water seems way down since the last trip to the dam (5 yrs ago)
DSW in Henderson~ no luck on shoes! Other location in the north seems to have better options.
too be continued.....
