downtown, Boulder HWY and Linda's first royal

Hey Jon,

Ditto!!!!! Yes, I thought that your trip report was awesome too, especially this comment that CLV made.

Great TR & liked all the pics too. Sounds like you all had a really good time.

This story cracked me up:

"Then we went back to Fitzgerald’s; I was playing the FP coupon from the MRB, and I decided to go for the free steak again. I’ve been trying to win that damned steak for four years now, never hit it. So I’m playing the 8/5 BP steak machine, having a great session, lots of flushes and full houses (which of course piss you off on BP because it ain’t 9/6). Finally hit quad queens, get the steak voucher from a generally pissed off slot attendant. Within the next four minutes, I would hit quad 2s, then quad 6s. So he had to give me two more vouchers, then a hopper fill. He was livid by then."

BTW...was the slot attendant an old, tall, husky guy? I think that he wears glasses too. If that's the one, he should retire because he looks like he's about late 60's.
We have encountered him many times and he is very rude and makes smart ass remarks when we ask for change and when he has to write out the "free steak dinner" coupon. Just was wondering because he is the only grumpy change person that we know of at the Fitz.

Mahalo.....

Hi, Tamashir. Yeah, that was him. You must know the place well.

Thanks for the kind words, it was a hell of a long TR, you have to be a die-hard to work your way through the whole thing. Thanks!
Hi Jon,

I like trip reports of all sizes, but I really like the longer ones since they are more detailed and you never know when you might be able to glean a good nugget of information from it.

Longer reports also can make people feel even more like they are along for the ride with the writer.

Thanks again for posting it!

Great TR. Loved the pics and all the DT details. Congrats on Linda's first Royal.

got some good tips for my May visit but .................... UGH UGH raw fish for breakfast, not on your life.

I also am one of the few that like pick em. Great game but for me can be volatile. When I win I tend to win decent but when losing the money goes real fast.

Thanks, guys. I agree, you can get a lot of detail and a lot of ideas from a long TR, although I know that they bore the hell out of my non-gambling friends.

Siwst, Rec is also a Pick-em fan. I guess it's kind of an interesting game, although I think I've only had one positive session in my life (it was at the pre-renovation Gold Spike, a nickel machine just outside the old Copper Mine).

And fish makes a fine breakfast; not popular in America, but plenty of Japanese and plenty of Jews swear by it.

Thanks for reading!

Yes, I definitely do like Pick 'Em Poker. With the correct pay schedule, it has a lower variance because the Royal Flush (although the cycle is a lot longer [over 1 in 351,000 hands as opposed to about 1 in 40,400 hands in 9/6 Jacks Or Better]) only comprises about 0.34% of the game's entire return as opposed to 9/6 Jacks where the Royal Flush comprises about 1.98% of the game's entire return!

Great trip report. We always stay downtown so it was interesting to read your comments. We got the steak dinner at Fitzgeralds out of our system too last trip - steak not so great. Congrats to Linda on Royal.
Thanks, chyna. Yeah, not impressed with the free Fitz steak. It was worth the price, though.

And thanks for resurrecting my TR, I had almost forgotten that we went!
Thanks for the great trip report.! Love downtown and, as a video poker player, I enjoy hearing about all the 9/6 JoB machines or similar.
