Downtown Grand...what a f'n joke

Paid for this over a month ago..got it cheap.. Yeah..too good to believe. Showed up last night late...intended to come late, but had a flight delay on top of it. 7days at downtown...STUPID ASSED FUCKING DECISION. Get here...a line somehow at registration. K we can deal with that...Go to room...gum wrappers on floor and hair all over the under bedding...I am sure that can happen during cleaning, but doubt it at this level. on the 17th floor, you can hear the party like you are on the first. Pretty lame for a new remodel. Ask for a different room. Pretty sure we got downgraded from our upgrade on this room. Get pissed a little and they say fuck off that is all they have. lol Anyway today, go to take a shower..I stepped into the shower, then had to go get grab my towel, before I got too far in. Come back and notice the black foot outline on the floor... there is a black assed footprint on the shower floor(I had my socks and shoes off to sleep and pretty much walk to the bathroom)..mine. I pretty much just came in stripped, hit the nasty assed bed, got up and showered...not sure how I got black foot syndrome(brand new shoes and socks for vegas). The showers are the most retarded thing I have ever seen btw....if you want a warm shower without a draft.....just go turn it on an hour or two before you shower to waste that vegas water to get the room temp up...I might go turn it on now for the morning. They had only $15 bj on a Thursday btw...not that I promote blackjack. lol Slept in today since it was a bit of time change....never once heard a vacuum...that explains the pathetic assed dirty floors. Jizz all over the floor and bedding so the next guy can walk in it and spread it all over. yuck....ok I saw an ad about downtown grand..."lower your expectations." Well if you are a worthless bum off Fremont St,, you should love this place. It is a shelter and cheap, but if you advertise a new modern remodel, I would expect something somewhat nice. This isn't really more than a ghetto motel room with fresh paint....with all sorts of shit all over it in both rooms. Also the casino has about the square footage of any non coastal house. I could probably spit from side to side if really needed. Luckily I have some comps at real places and will be out of here in a couple days.

FU GRAND. Yeah I paid 3rd world prices here, and got 3rd world shit assed room.
Lesson Learned.....I didn't see the rooms, but the Golden Nugget seems to be the only place for me to stay downtown, but they have no interest of getting a gamblers attention, as they have a steady crop. C'mon craps tourney tomorrow. WTF is up with the promo chips on paid entry btw? I fully understand the bs reason for promo chips, but why do we accept them? Cause no one else hardly has a damn craps tourney..

That kind of sounds upity, which I am not...I expect any room, no matter where I stay, to be cleaned.

im with you. even the most basic room should be clean and not disgusting. I just don't understand the business model that they use to run these hotel/casinos these days. or should I say resorts!

ty vegasdev...made it to the next round on craps and up a bit from the D...bums are out in full display tonight.. i mean vegas..you need to really take the time and use all those tax dollars to help out the veteran...you shouldnt need to, our gov should take care of them fully.....or just load them up and drop them off in the dessert. not cool, but not cool to get hit up every 5 secs by some vet...that the us has fully turned their back on.

Wow! I'm sorry to read about the bad state of affairs at DG! I liked the place when it was Lady Luck but I have not been in the place since the remodel and name change!

I think that not bad room offers for play can come from Four Queens, D and Plaza.

That's awful. Guessing you got this deal through a discounter and had to pay in advance.

Never pay in advance for hotel room. CC to guarantee room, yes, but paying in advance has often backfired on folks. And checking in late compounds the problem because you get what's left. With a discounter, you can't get your money back.

You can ask the next day or two for something better. Just because they told you that night they didn't have anything, rooms will open up the next day or so.

Paying in advance does not mean they hold a particular room for you.

I stayed there this past March, and will stay there again on my next visit. I am sorry you had a bad experience, but mine was the complete opposite. My room (1701) was large, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I love the music they play. The bartenders were great, and I found the machines to be very generous. I stayed during St Patricks Day and had no problem with the noise from Fremont St. The only negitive was the cashiers window and the players club had the same line.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Like JohnnyRamo, I enjoyed my stay last May. My room was clean and immaculate and I would stay there again.

Well. HELL YES....ended up getting 5th..boom...I had 3rd, but sneaked in on the others to get 3rd the first few rounds and ended up 5th...so i was due. lol 1500...what...I am still doing backflips. lol 2 vegas trips 2 1500 paydays at craps tourneys. lol I will take it. The money was huge diff. between spots, but I try not to be too greedy. lol So I try to give many excuses for people. lol went downstairs and played some pau gow something or another.....as soon as I show up this "good looking" couple shows up. they aren't even playing the game...just throwing down money and talking...but they know it well, some how and are winning big just showing up, not paying attention at all. so...does this place try to stack the table...are they that pathetic? I wouldn't be surprised as pathetic as this place is. To you folks that like this place, why not just pack your stuff in a black garbage bag, and stay with the bums outside here for free? be cheaper...not much less dirty....and you could call it camping. lol this place still needs burned to the ground sorry. I shouldn't be so hard on the place, cause the contractor they pd to do this...really screwed the downtown over....horrible craftsmanship....I know tile guys that would tear this work apart. Once this chick wakes up from the free drinks during my play, I will go see what I can make happen on the tables. def not at downtown grand. idiots. I waste a lot of money...dont fucking piss me off.

1. Did you ever determine what the cause of your 'black foot syndrome' was? From the floor?
2. Is this actual bodily fluids we're talking about or metaphorical "jizz"?

I'd try to calmly work my way up the management chain there to someone who takes this condition very seriously. Can't imagine this is typical of their rooms, but they should get rid of whoever is responsible for it and try to make it right for you.

If it was me running that joint, I'd refund your money, upgrade you to the best room in the house and throw in a $200 food credit.
