Early pre-trip report Aug 29 - sept 2nd

I know it is early for a trip report, but it is a month away and I can't wait. Please give any feedback. My wife and I are going with another couple. This other couple has never flown or been to vegas before. I am the only one that really likes to Gamble. Should be interesting.

Saturday

Getting in around 12:20 local time. Pick up the rental car. (1st time doing this in vegas) Got a premium car for $184 with all fees included. Really only needed a full size, but never found one cheaper than this deal I got.

Check in a Luxor for one night. Each couple gets a $20 dinning credit. Also have a 2 free lunch buffet
(myvegas) for luxor. After checking in heading to luxor buffet to each. Will relex a bit after lunch. My wife and I have tickets to see Daniel Tosh at the mirage. Other couple did not want to go and will just go sightseeing.

Sunday

Checking out of Luxor. Then plan on doing the Hoover Dam and Skywalk. After that checking into Mandalay Bay. We have a 2 bedroom suite waiting on us. Rest of sunday night just doing what ever hits us.

Monday

Mainly sightseeing and sneek in some gambling. Going up and down the strip to the casinos. Also the other couple wants to hit the Harley store near the rio. Have tickets for Tournament of Kings Monday night (2free tickets were from myvegas).

Tuesday

Not much planned in the morning time. More sightseeing, maybe pool time for the ladies and gambling time for the guys. Have reservations for N9NE at the palms for 6:30pm (using the 50% coupon up to $50 on this. Then have Penn and Teller at 9pm.

Wed.

Just hanging out. Have to check out, but our plane does not leave till 11pm.

Other myvegas rewards. 2 for 1 Mirage buffet (will use with our LVA coupon) 2 free dinner buffets at MGM. We have one other reward just can't remember what it is
Request a Tower room at the Luxor; they are nicer that the Pyramid rooms. You might pick up a copy of the American Casino guide; it contains a lot of coupons that you can use for non gaming activities to supplement your LVA coupons. Pool time at MB is a must. Tell the "rookies" to be sure and bring comfortable walking shoes. Dinner at the Palms and Penn & Teller sounds like a winner.
I already have the American casino guide. We are also planning on doing the high roller and Eiffel tower. I plan on trying to use a lot of the ACG gambling coupons when we check out downtown. Also let the rookies use a few of them to gamble at a discount. We already warned them about light clothes and good walking shoes.
Also for some discounted (at least somewhat) gambling, maybe check into going to casinos that offer "Win Cards" which have Non-Negotiable Chips which you can play over and over again until they are lost. When you win, they pay you off in real chips which you never have to bet.

They may be offered in one or both of the following: $30 in Non-Negotiable Chips for $20 and/or $15 in Non-Negotiable Chips for $10.

For example, at Circus-Circus, you can get both of these (so you'd have $45 in Non-Negotiable Chips for $30). You have to go to the Slot Club booth to get these vouchers and then the vouchers are to be taken to the Cashier's Cage where you pay them $30 and get the chip packages (in the package is also a bet for the Dealer slip). Please do note that the playing strategy information that's on the Win Cards is not the best (actually the Blackjack information I find to be pretty bad).

The website at: https://www.wincards.com has a link which tells you at least some of the casinos where this promotion is still offered. It should also be available at Four Queens in Downtown LV and maybe a few more Strip area places. Does anyone else here know who has what?

Also, try to get your hands on as many Las Vegas Freebie magazines as possible because they have all kinds of offers and other good information in there and they also can have some good coupons as well.

You may want to check out Travelzoo or Groupon for discounted tickets tot he High Roller. I believe I saw a deal that was $29 which included n open bar.

Be sure to check out the Conservatory at Bellagio.

Hoover Dam is very interesting. The Coffee Cup in Boulder was featured on Diners, drive-Ins,, and Dives. The Skywalk is at the Grand Canyon, correct? That will be a long drive to and from.

Joy
Joy,

The skywalk is only about 2 to 2.5 hours away from vegas.
Sounds like a fun trip. I would add for newbee's:

- Trip downtown
- Eat at the Peppermill for one meal
- Check out the Mob Museum downtown
- Take a trip to Bootleg Canyon and go ziplining. We have done this a few times with
https://www.flightlinezbootleg.com/
- If they like to shoot
https://www.battlefieldvegas.com/
- Take them up the stratosphere tower for a drink
- Check out the Pinball Museum
- Check out The Container Park Downtown

I have seen coupons in the LV Freebie magazines for discounts to Bootleg Canyon Ziplining, The Mob Museum as well as for weapons usage, so people should check that out.

And as for going up the tower specifically for a drink, I seem to remember reading that you can get Free admission to the Elevator for that (but that should be looked into). I think that you have to say that you're going up for drinks at the bar in the tower (I think that it may be called something like "Level 107").

GET a player card at every casino and ASK for free thing ..for signing up....have FUN.
Yes, joining Slot Clubs can be good for getting new member bonuses. Plus some coupons at least from the ACG if not also from the LVA MRB can get these people more.

Maybe if you tell the newbies that if they can learn how to play in the best possible manner, then they can do well -- most especially if they have additional help from coupons and/or other promotions.
