EC Extravaganza Part 2

These lucky green glitter nails have worked real well so far, but as they start chipping, so does my bankroll.

Saturday July 28

After a short night Friday, we got up and headed over to the Rio where we met Harv, Bob, Catherine, Lydia and Paul (tennisbum) We were there a little late so we had to wait to gather everyone back. Sorry! We had a great time drinking mimosas and chatting. Thank you Catherine and our bogo LVA coupons. Lydia and I (the 2 little Catholic girls-well 1 big,1 small!) went to Church and the others scattered to their favorite places. Dennis went back to play at SP. After Church, Dennis & I played for awhile before going back to our suite where the others were gathering for the MPT.

We had a great time finally catching up with Jon (Sionow), John (Janek13) & Patty whom we haven't seen in probably 3 years, Jim (our chipman) & Dave and Julie who we met last year. Bob did his usual pregame production and then the game began. My husband will not play, but I've tried to learn this game. I love my VP facing that machine who doesn't have emotions, but with real people I get a little intimated. I was getting some pretty decent deals at first. I got burnt on the first hand by Harv when he caught his river card. Sorry Paul I did you in a few hands later. I've been here a couple times with lots of chips actually leading at the break once only to get the crap hands later to succumb early. It was fun and one of these days I'm gonna get this right. Just like VP I work on it until I get it right, lol.! My best accomplishment was getting beat out by Catherine in AC when she got a straight flush to leave to go down and play 3-play BP where I got 2 quarter royals in about 15 mins. After all the festivities, I finally headed down to MY GAME, vp, where I joined Harv, Bob and Lydia after a losing session with Dennis. Harv had 2 sets of deuces playing fifty cent NSU and I caught #3. Before the clock struck 5:00am, I remained only around a +100. In the meantime, Lydia was playing quarters and hit 2 sets of deuces on the other 2 machines that we did not hit. There was 1 more where Bob played, but Lydia had no success there. I should have stayed there as I played a triple play machines nearby and didn't do too well. Dennis gave up a couple hours before and headed to the room.

Sunday July 29

We skipped the Garduno's brunch to get a little pool time. It was a nice little break and that water felt sooooooooo good! We had dinner at Vito's which was very good as always. Always way too much food. I had spaghetti & meat balls and Dennis had his usual Ziti. We gambled a major part of the day and took a big hit. We met the group at midnight. This was Catherine, Lydia, Harv, Bob, Dave, Dennis & me. It was lots of fun as usual. Hard to believe, I actually went to the room after this, early night, lol!

Monday July 30

I got my #4 50 cent deuces this day, but again up only $100 at day's end. Dennis continues to lose. We ate at the Oyster Bar, clam chowder and a shared salad. This is golf day. We have not played golf with the group because we are not golfers. We are both so happy that we finally played. It was fun and not intimidating at all as I expected. Angel Park is across the street from Suncoast. It is a full golf course as well as a 9-hole putting course. We played 2 rounds of the 9-hole putting course thus 18 holes. It was only $5 to play. The more skillful golfers went first. This was Harv, Bob, John and Jim. The ladies were next which was Catherine, Lydia, Patty and yours truly. Then followed by the twosome of Paul and my husband Dennis. It was a perfect evening and sooooooooo much fun. It is a beautiful place to spend the evening. It was hard to believe the weather was perfect. I only wish we had done it sooner. I was proud that I never lost a ball in the water and actually had a couple of 2's hitting par on 1. Of course, I hit the sand traps a few times. I will put it on my to do list when going to Vegas again. We went to Gordon Biersch's after for appetizers and drinks. Thanks to Harv for his comps with his lunch card.

Tuesday July 31

We had sandwiches & onion rings from the deli always good and way too much. I hit my #5 deuces this day but was down about $200 and Dennis still down. This is our day to see Jubilee. We went to Bally's around 5:00 and stopped to get our free tickets for the show. We met Catherine, Paul, Harv & Bob at the Paris Diamond Lounge to share drinks, snacks & stories about our feats or lack thereof. Harv, Bob, Catherine, Dennis & I did a group play on some ungodly schedule of Multi-Strike. It was not profitable, surprise.! Harv & Bob left and the rest of the 4 of us proceeded on to Jubilee. This was the 10:30 show. We had very good seats and the show was very entertaining as others have said. I've wanted to see this show for many years, but somehow just never made it. It is nice that CET is giving it free to diamond players. This was our goodbye night as we as well as Harv & Bob are leaving the next day. When we returned to South Point Dennis went to the room & I played a short night until 3:00am.

Wednesday Aug 1

We had room service breakfast. I called VIP services and my host wasn't in so I spoke to another and she comped out room chargers except for room service which was on after she cleared our account. We put our luggage in the car and hung around to play a couple hours as our flight wasn't until 5:10. I went to get my cashback which was around $170. I told Dennis to just use his to play which was $110 and we both had $15 in freeplay for August. I lost a little, but ,drum roll, please Dennis beat me big time as he got a last minute royal playing triple play. He sure felt a lot better as this was a really bad trip for him He saved the day as we came home about $500 ahead after all expenses. We stopped in the United Lounge and had a drink and took some snacks to have on the plane. We have never been there before, but I get 2 passes once each year from my United credit card. It would have been nice to get there sooner, but at least we got to see it. We'll try it again next year. Our flight home went well. We got home about 1:00am Ohio time.

Judykq - I'am sorry your TR is over. It was not too long. Enjoyed reading it
Congrats on coming home a winner
Thanks Judykq for the end of your report plus for the photos!

And at least for me, no trip report is too long. The more detailed, the better!

And I'm happy that after all this and all the losing that you both were able to still come home with more money than you left with.
