Fabulous Vegas winning trip 1/24-1/31

We usually don't go to Vegas in January, but airfare for under $200 was hard to pass up. I booked a room for 3 nights at Caesars & 4 nights at Southpoint.

We left Cleveland on time at 8:40 & arrived a half hour early at 10:00. We had a little problem at Dollar when we arrived. They gave us a # of a stall with supposedly our car, but the paperwork was someone else's. Hubby took paperwork up and it all worked out. We had a little problem with rate due to early arrival, but we also worked that out. Charge was $150 for a week + a day for compact, Chevy Cobalt.

We arrived early at Caesars & were supposed to get an Augustus Tower room. None were available at that time, but a room was available in the Palace Tower with twin bathrooms so we checked it out & really liked it. If we went there again, we would ask for this type of room. It was really nice with bathrooms separated by a walk through shower with dual showerheads. It also had a 2 person Jacuzzi.

We had a fabulous suite at Southpoint. It had a deep soaking tub (not a jacuzzi), but a great pulsating showerhead.

The first 3 photos are one bathroom at Caesars showing the shared shower.

The rest of the photos are the Suite at Southpoint.

I am not very good with this photo thing, but bear with me, I'm trying.

More to come...............

DAY 2 WED JAN 25

We got room service, and then headed to the Casino to put in a little short play vp with Caesars. Dennis held his own, me not so hot.

Today was our day to visit Rampart. It's always part of our routine to play 10-play dimes there. Today was 2x points so a little extra incentive. They have 6 slant tops which we were able to secure 2, so we sat down & played a couple hours. Dennis was doing very well. At one point he got a royal & didn't even realize it until he looked at his total $, and it was over $500. I was not doing too well, but I finally got going & got my royal & a dealt quad as well. I play NSUD and switch to JB if needed. We both left $400 ahead after a couple hours of play. We stopped at a store and bought some Keurig coffee to use in the coffeepot at Caesars. It cost $9 for 12 as opposed to $12 for 4.

Our next plan was to go to the Rio to play the $ 8/5 BP machines which we played last summer. We did not see them. I'm not sure if they changed denom & payscale or what, but it was a bummer. It was listed in VPfree & I contacted them about it. We got some food at the deli & played some more of CET's short play machines. We both lost, him a little, me a lot. We got back to Caesar's, and I played there & lost more. This loyalty to CET is killing us.

THURS JAN 26

Today we wanted to do a little walking on the strip as we hadn't done this in years. We walked through the Forum Shops, and were really surprised at the additional remodeling they have done since the last time we were there. We crossed the street to go to Harrah's. We stopped to eat at the Oyster Bar. We had a nice meal. We went to the restrooms over by the sportsbook. We were reminiscing about our days when we used to play slots there. We decided to put a $20 each in one of our favorite Triple Diamond machines. We played single $ and both left with our $20. Maybe we should have done this all day instead of short play vp.

On our way back through the poker area, we decided to play the quarter progressives as they were up to about $1160 at the time. I actually put in the $20 plus a fifty, and ended up playing for over 2 hrs leaving with a $230 profit. I got everything except the royal including a dealt SF. Dennis lost $120. He left me playing to go to get tickets for Legends for later that evening. We finally proceeded on with our walk. We stopped for a short time at Flamingo at the bar and had a drink and a little more of CET's play.

We went to the Bellagio to see the gardens. They were beautiful as always. We walked back to Caesars. We stopped at registration on our way back to apply our comp for our room service as we would be moving the next day.

After a short stay at our room, we got in our car & headed over to the Palms to play our $40 for $25 offer. By the time we went to the slot club to activate this, we played a short while on BP, and then drove back to Harrah's. We ate at the cafe. I played keno, something I haven't done in years also. I lost. I enjoyed talking to Larry who has been there for years. We talked about Libby who I still keep in contact with who now lives in Tennessee. I used to play a lot of keno which is my kq. We went to see Legends which was a great show. We both thought that Michael Jackson was the best. Of course we played awhile before we headed back to Caesars. Very bad session. Goodbye CET!

FRIDAY JAN 27
Got a bite to eat, picked up luggage at Valet and headed over to Southpoint. Ok, now were ready for some real gambling. We got our room, a 1 bedroom suite #2545. It is very nice. Now we feel like home, great room, great play. We were having a meet and supposed to meet at Steak n Shake. I called Stuart (Vantzy) and told him to come up to see our suite. He came up and surprised us with John & Mary (holdemhoney, formerly Aces). We had a great time. We brought some wine and our frig was stocked with pop, juice & water. John, Mary & I had wine. We had a great visit. It was nice to have someone to share the suite with, and some very interesting conversation.

After the meet, we went down to play for a couple hours, and then went back to our room to wait for David a friend from home to meet us along with his daughter Beth who lives in Vegas. We had a great visit. They told us about their adventures during his visit, and he told a lot of funny stories. Actually, I know David because his Mom & my Mom are both at the same nursing home. It was really great to enjoy some conversation with him away from the home. We always talk about his daughter & son-in-law who is a bowler. He had told me he was going to Vegas in Jan. & it happened to be around the same time we were going. He is not a gambler. I told him he would have to see our suite when we see him there.

After our visit we went down to eat at the Cafe. Dennis played a little longer and gave up and went to the room. I played much longer. At the end of the day, I was only down $15 after a very slow start which is much better than my CET play. Dennis was down $235.

SATURDAY JAN 28

We had room service breakfast. It was really nice on our dining table. We went down to play. Dennis was now ready to go play some real poker. We started on Triple play quarters. He played about an hour, and then dealt a diamond 4-royal. We hoped he would get one. I saw the bottom line & he saw the middle line, 2 royals happy day!

More to come............................
Very nice so far! Thanks for the reporting as well as the photos and congratulations on all of the Royals that both of you have hit so far -- most especially the Double one!

And yes, it's great to be able to meet up with fellow LVAers. I have met up with both Stuart and Mary at different times.

I'm looking forward to more reporting, so keep up the good work!

We played on for about another hour. I was actually even and he was +$1865. Dennis really didn't want to go, but we were going to Church & had to be on our way. He usually doesn't go to Church, but I convinced him to go with me. It was a nice little break back to reality.

When we returned to SP, I played a 50-play machine NSU and left after about 40 min. with a $400 profit. Dennis played 3-play and lost $100. We had a reservation for the Steakhouse. We had a wonderful dinner, I had a filet & Dennis had prime rib. We played a couple more hours nothing too exciting finally going to the room where we made our first donation to our safe. We had a plan to make deposits, but no withdrawals.

SUNDAY JAN 29

Breakfast today was some leftover fruit and cheese & crackers. We just wanted to eat light as we were going to get food at the Deli for a lunch. We played a couple hours at which time Dennis had a great run with a 50-play nickel machine and left with a $900 profit after hitting 3 royals. I held my own.

I'm not sure when he got these. I think he had the 2 on this session. He had a lot of luck on these. We played these last trip and both got a royal, and he wanted to try them again. He had a lot more luck on them than I did.

We had sandwiches & onion rings at the deli. It was way too much food. Dennis had to get his carrot cake which he took up to the room in the frig.

After lunch, we played several hours before going to dinner at Vito's. We had another great meal and used our coupon for the free dessert which we took a cheesecake & chocolate cake to the room. We decided to get the new Footloose movie on pay-for-view. It was a great movie with the new twist. We've always loved the movie & the music. We could have gone to the Theater, but just liked the idea of spending a little time relaxing in the room. Of course we went back down and played a few more hours. Dennis had another run on a 50-play machine for a +400. I didn't do bad only down about $100 for the day. At one point when I wasn't doing too well, I put in a $20 and played 4-card keno with some crazy #'s and got it up to $100. I think this was also the day when we were playing the 50-play machines and I would go down to 10-play and worked back up to 50-play where I got a royal.

MONDAY JAN 30

TODAY IS MY DAY!

We had a very sweet breakfast carrot & chocolate cake, of course. Throughout the day, Dennis lost around $400.

My day started out with -$100, +200, +400 (I got $.50 deuces at the bar by the deli. Right after leaving the bar, we went to play 3-play. I was playing NSU and hit my first $.25 royal this trip. I continued to play, but switched to JB and after around a half hour hit another one to show Dennis how you hit 2 royals with no W2G lol! GO AHEAD! "MAKE MY DAY!" ( I have now done this 2 royal hit on 3-play machines 3 times, but once I got a W2G for $1250 because it was on the progressive machines in AC. The other was many years ago in Lake Tahoe.) I only had 1 more exciting play, another $500 hit on single line deuces. Sometime in between we had crabs legs at the Oyster Bar.

You will notice that my royals are usually only holding 1, 2 or 3 cards. I had lots of 4-royals, but no luck. Those 1 & 2 cards held are really nice surprises. Gotta love that 10, K.

TUESDAY JAN 31 (TIME TO SAY GOODBYE VEGAS-BUT NOT GOODBYE MONEY)

We had room service breakfast. We stopped to get gas on the way to the car rental facility. We only used 5 gals. Everything went well. We changed our seats to row 10 on the plane when checking in, and the plane was pretty empty. We sat with open seat between us which was really nice. We arrived a half hour early.

We have been assured to get a suite next trip, hopefully, this summer. It will certainly be hard to top this trip.

It's very sad that CET can't have some better play. It was surprising our last trip that they had $ BP. They must have lost money, lol! Loyalty is getting too costly in Vegas at CET.

Dennis's 2 royals came after his machine was playing horrible. I told him to change machines, lol! I'm glad he didn't listen!

It was fun meeting up with some new people again.

I hope I didn't tire you out reading this, it was tiring just putting it together, but fun as well.

I think I'm finally getting this picture thing down! I hope I get a lot more great pictures to post.

Loved your trip report. We were in LV at the same time as you, but no big wins. :0(
