Family Reunion in Vegas Day 4

Wednesday, July 13th Day 4

Once again we were up early and back down to the spa and fitness center. After working out for an hour, I relaxed in the Jacuzzi for awhile.

The group was scheduled to meet this morning near the elevators in the lobby. The night time festivities must be getting to some of the group as we dwindled down to 8 this morning for breakfast.
We headed over to Dupar’s at the Golden Gate loaded with the $150 food comp that the casino host wrote us last evening. We were seated in a private area just outside the restaurant entrance.
I had heard about the great pancakes here, so I had my sights on a short stack with a side of ham. As usual the orders ran the gamut, so we got to see and taste many items. We also ordered takeout for one of our stragglers who was now in the mood to eat in his room. Even with everyone ordering what they wanted and the takeout order, the bill came out to $137. We gave up the food comp and tipped nicely and we were on our way.

For the ladies in the group, this was Golden Nugget Spa Day. Several months ago, we had taken advantage of the Golden Nugget Groupon spa deal. It was $130 in spa services for $65. My wife was really into this. she was using one coupon for an 80 minute massage, and since that treatment was discounted, she decided to add on a hydrating facial as well. All the ladies seemed relaxed and happy after their treatments.

The rest of the afternoon was left loose for everyone to go their own way, but today’s dinner plan was the M Buffet. We met in our usual spot at 5pm in the lobby and I asked everybody to first stop at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign so we could take a group photo. We all piled into our vehicles and headed down to Las Vegas Boulevard to meet up. When we arrived there, a large wedding party was taking photos. That seemed pretty cool to us. We all gathered together and asked a stranger politely to take our photo. She was extremely patient as several cameras were shoved in her direction when she said she’d do it. Hope she did not regret it…lol. She did take some great shots of all of us.

Back into the car and headed down to the M Resort. First stop for everyone was the players club. My dad, my wife and I all had the mailers for free stuff and today’s pick-up was a bottle of rum. We also got $20 free play added on our cards. New sign-ups got a shirt and I believe $5 in free slot play.
We then headed over to the buffet (14 of us). Luckily my dad, wife and I all had the much desired line pass with our free buffet coupon so we got to get in the short line for invited guests. Since today was Wednesday, the added bonus was the buy one get free for every member in our party that 50 or over. Taking full advantage of this our pre-coupon/50 plus diner tab at the buffet would have been $400, after the discounts and coupons $198 including the gratuity for large parties. Everyone LOVED this meal because there is so much variety. And with few exceptions, everyone liked what they selected.
After dinner we played in the M Casino a bit. I had a hot streak at the blackjack table and cashed out plus $600. My wife took our $20 free play on our cards and turned that into nearly $400. This was a great stop.

We finally gathered the troops and headed back downtown. Once again everyone was left to their own devices and we would meet in the morning for breakfast.

Up next….Day 5…Gambling Downtown and the Flame for Dinner
What great fun...and it all seems to be going so smoothly....and with such a large crowd!!! Great job on organizing and getting everyone's cooperation.
Very nice, bigbob!

Thanks for Day 4's report! Sounds like a great and relaxing day was had, great going on the food deals (the comp and the discounts) and congratulations on you and your wife's excellent gaming haul at the M!
