Final trip to Las Vegas

Been going to Vegas since the 1970's. Used to be we try to hit all the larger casinos on the strip on one trip. Now, its near impossible and not as fun to try. Can't just pull-up into the parking lot and walk in the doors like you used to.
What has been a nice change for the past 10 years or so has been the proliferation of the locals casinos. They have been a really nice change-of-pace from the strip casinos which have all gone mega-sized. At GVR, RR, SS, M, etc., there is no half hour wait in a line to get a meal. Well, maybe at certain buffets on special days there could be a line like the strips'. But its really nice to be able to walk through a casino without having a wall of people to meander through, go out to pool and actually find a lounge chair unoccupied, and go outside and take a walk around the hotel grounds without risking getting hit-up or run over. And there's nothing like walking out the hotel tower doors to the parking lot to get in your car instead of hiking a quarter mile. Don't know if you frequent these places, but if not give them a try.

I suggest that you give Laughlin a try for a different vibe to Vegas.

My opinion, ......... Laughlin has no "vibe".

We try to go every 12 - 18 months for a week and take a mini vacation between trips. Our next trip will be 14 1/2 months since our last trip and we took a long weekend to Knoxville, TN and Asheville, NC since then. We don't go to Vegas just for gambling, we can go up to Detroit if that's all we want to do. We make an adventure out of each trip, Vegas is great people watching and we love the climate out there and yes we have been there when it's 115 out. It hasn't lost it's flair to us because we try to keep it fresh and do at least one or two things new each trip.
