First October Trip

I don't read a lot of TRs that cover the locals casinos so I appreciated yours. A few observations

"Red Rock Buffet: I used my Station points and had this one comped. I had breakfast and this one is a notch above the other Station Casinos. Better tasting and better prepared food. Try the breakfast brisket burrito. Grade A".

------------Totally agree with breakfast burrito. I really enjoyed it, but I wanted to try an assortment of goodies so I only took 3-4 bites.

"Green Valley Ranch Buffet: Another comped buffet. Maybe a tiny bit lower quality than Red Rock, but better than most other Stations. I had breakfast and it was good. Something I really like about this buffet is that the hostess who seats you writes down your drink order and leaves it on the table for the server. They also bring you the little alcohol wipes with your drinks. Grade A-."
-------------------I have really been disappointed in the breakfast buffet and have given up on it in favor of Sunset Station.

"Sam’s Town Breakfast Buffet: Definitely below average in quality and selection. Grade D."
--------------Absolutely agree.
westie,

Sunset and GVR charge the same for breakfast and I was playing at GVR so I ate there. There's very little difference IMO between GVR, Sunset and Aliante breakfast buffets. Red Rock is slightly better than those three.

yo eleven,

You can't speed up the FPDW machines at Sam's Town.

And from what I'm understanding, supposedly by the Swingers bar there are three machines that have 9/6 Jacks on them.

I do like Las Vegas Club and Four Queens too. I do remember seeing some show a while ago saying that Sam's Town had a decent buffet (it was one of Rachel Ray's LV On $40 A Day Shows).

She had gotten some of her information at that time (I think that it might have been in about 2000 or so) from the LVA Newsletter (which she had picked up for Free from Palms if I remember correctly).

According to VPFree, the Plaza has all of six machines that pay back over 99%. That's not enough to get me in the doors again.
