First Trip Report of 2017 (Long and lots of Pics")

Thanks, JMan for the very interesting report as well as for the very nice photos, and nice going on your overall win and the nice time you had with your son!

As for the LVA Offices (Huntington Press), if I'm remembering correctly there is a sign on the front of the building but not in the parking lot (where you took the photo).

Another thing that you could have done on your casino walk was the Win Cards promotions at any casino that offers it (like Circus-Circus/Slots-A-Fun and I think New York New York).

Did you notice that you didn't win ONE bet at the CET properties? Crazy.

Mare, I noticed this too!

Jon, thanks once again for a great report!

Cheers,
Deanna
great TR enjoyed reading and seeing the pics of your wins
I've always enjoyed reading your reports as you tend to stay at many of the places I do.

Your comments about the continual decline of Sam's Towns promotions are spot on. And I am impressed that you made the walk of the entire LV strip!

I have a tradition in the many years of your reports, as I typically post, correcting you where you say in just about every report, that Sam's Town is in Henderson, instead of Las Vegas. Now you say it is in a "Las Vegas zip code", but is "technically East of Henderson". I don't understand what gave you this information, so this time I will link to two different maps, both showing that the Henderson border is nowhere near Sam's Town. And not only is Sam's town not East of Henderson, but you can even travel further East of Sam's Town (or West) and you would still be in Las Vegas, not Henderson. The police department that was giving out tickets on Boulder Highway near Sam's would have been LVPD, not the Henderson police, which would be another clue as to the city/town lines. Henderson's northern border is even a few blocks South of Tropicana Ave. Russel Road is approximately the northern border of Henderson in that area, which is over 2.5 miles South of Sam's on Boulder Highway! So I don't get the Henderson comment.

On your LVA 'no sign' comment, RecVP is correct. First, the company name is not the Las Vegas Advisor. That is just one of the publications of Huntington Press, the publisher of the LVA, and as he/she mentioned, there is a sign labeling the office as Huntington press, which cannot be seen from the angle of your photo, but it is there.

Another awesome trip report - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I found some news today that I hope won't bring you down too much. Starting today, the Young at Heart senior day at all Boyd properties is for locals only. What a slap in the face - I sure hope they get enough complaints to open it back up to everyone.

wjkomo----sams town is neither in Henderson or the city of las vegas they are in an area called east las vegas, not an actual city but an area in clark county-----the southern border of the actual city of las vegas stops at sahara ave, technically the strip is not in the city of las vegas but in metropolitan las vegas ------the las vegas police dept does not have jurisdiction of the strip or areas around sams town------the clark county police have jurisdiction in those areas as well as searchlight and cal-nev-ari, and go all the way south to Laughlin----------- I do know that boulder city , north las vegas and henderson also have their own police depts.----not aware if other small towns have their own police dept or whether they have the county police-------
I really like your trip reports. Heading to Laughlin soon and may want to write my first report. What software do you use for preparing your reports?

Thanks,

Bob

Well evidently all the complaints paid off because as of today, the Young at heart promotion is once again for everybody. Yeah!

Thanks for the report.

I was a follower of your trip reports for years.  We have not been to Vegas for over 5 years.  Life takes a turn sometimes in a different direction but we are going to do it again in the near future!  Thanks for reporting a nice long filled with pictures report.  Lots of good  memories returned for a moment to relive past trips.    Keep writing when you can.  Thanks again.
