Flamingo-Orleans-Flamingo TR July 2013 Long Trip - Long Report!

You shouldn't waste your time with the Flamingo survey. A few years ago, I had major problems with the valet and I wrote it in detail on my survey. The response was a generic letter from the President of the Flamingo thanking me for my stay and looking forward to my return. They do nothing with the surveys. I have not stayed there since.

Agreed. I responded to a survey after my Ballys stay last year (very little to complain about) but to this day no recognition of even douing the survey which was not shorty by any means!

It would have been nice had they at least acknowledge my response and noted some of things that I highlighted as concerns!

When the hotel desk clerk hands me my key packet, it seems like the room number is always illegible. I think they do that for fun.

Thoroughly enjoyed your trip report. You have a terrific sense of humor, I actually laughed out loud several times. I also prefer the spa experience in a swim suit for the same reason. Thank you for posting.

I agree that Raiding the Rock Vault is fantastic! I just hope it sticks around. The night I went, there weren't many people...

I too feel bad about the downgrades to the myVegas rewards. I started late and only get to Vegas once or twice a year. I hope something remains of the program next next year in May...

As a Groupon user I especially liked how well you did using Groupons. I keep seeing the one for Capos not sure I want to buy one after reading your review.
Ruth Chris sounds like it is a decent replacement for the Range. Interesting that you liked Excal SH as much as the others. May have to give it a try.

We stay at the Orleans most trips and I know that feeling of being overrun by kids. On holidays it has gotten really bad. Last trip (Easter) they were using the hot tub for a lazy river.
Every time I think about staying at the Flamingo I read a report where people who stay there all the time have problems with promised rooms and think why go through the trouble.

It is always good to come home with more money than you brought. Well done.

Great trip report Diane. Loved reading every last word. So wish I was in Vegas now. Also our favorite city.
We saw Raiding the Rock Vault the weekend it opened. I went because my husband is an old hippie when it comes to Rock and Roll. I am not so interested. However, I loved it, every minute of it. We bought balcony and ended up being put center front, five rows back. I recommend it to anyone, you won't be dissappointed.
