Up by 6:00 and down to the bar by 7:00. My husband is not feeling well (migraine), so he is slow to get ready. Not me. Play a bit at the bar then over to the progressive. The bar has Bonus Deuces Wild, which is my most favorite version of deuces. I played for over an hour on my first $20 and finally cashed out to join him when he came down. Lots of wild royals, 5 of a kinds, it was a great session. I went to the Plaza and won on a match play. We worked our way down to 4 Queens because I had forgotten to play the $10 free play the day before. One of the few times I did not play deuces, but did play DDBP, so when I hit quads I took the money and left. We then decided to try the Grand because we had two match plays. Lost the first one, but actually were successful on the $25 one and won $75 so that was nice. Back down to El Cortez, but no luck on my deuces there either. We had decided to have lunch at the Container Park, at The Perch. We sat outside and it was so nice to feel the sun after a LONG winter in Toledo. Lunch was very good.
Back down to the California and MSS for one last run before we switch to The Orleans. I really hate leaving downtown, but that was the way the free rooms worked out. The Orleans would not give us a Sunday night, and MSS would. I stopped to play at the progressive again - over $1,800 now. Again I got on a tremendous roll. My husband left to go to MSS and shortly after that I held one deuce and got 3 more! Cashed out and headed over to MSS. I was able to get one more Treasure Chest (thankfully not two’s) and tried Pay the Aces again. The game continued to hate me, but my husband was dealt 3 aces without faces twice, so that was nice.
Around 4:00 we tried to get a cab. There was none to be found, so we went over to the Golden Nugget, as we have always found one there. The doorman said it was because it was shift change, and said it is impossible to get one between 4 and 5. We waited a while, and never saw one. There was a “party bus” driver who wanted one more fare so he could be done, so he took us to the Orleans for the cost of a cab. Since by this time it was rush hour, it worked out to be a good compromise, as we spent a lot of time in traffic.
Checked in to the Orleans, then immediately hopped on the shuttle. The shuttle has just recently changed its strip drop off to the underground garage area of Caesar’s. We took streets I never knew existed. I still don’t know where we ended up. I wonder how many people will be able to find the new area. Finally made it to the Gold Coast, and played for the gift of the day. Bronze fruit bowls. I did OK and my fruit bowl was free, but not my husband – his cost over $100. I played DDBP and hit my only aces of the trip. I was playing Ultimate X for nickels, but had a multiplier, so ended up with $100. After we got our bowls we went to the Palms.
My husband loves the Palms, but the place hates me. I usually just watch him play, but I did OK there. We used our $50 coupon at Lao Sze Chaun. We really liked the seafood hot and sour soup. Our entrees were fine, but not dazzling, though my husband was fairly pleased with his Twice Cooked Pork, which was a different take on one of his favorite dishes. After we ordered we saw they had a hot pot. I wish we had done that instead. Maybe next trip. Played a bit more, then shuttled back to Orleans.
One of my favorite games is Dream Card. I managed to get deuces again, with a dream card. It was for nickels, but still fun. Played a bit more of everything, then eventually to bed.
