Wednesday, April 8th.
Caffeine at the Orleans bar. Just not the same as MSS. Played a bit of dream card and hit deuces again. The streak continues. The plan today was to eat at Bellagio for lunch, using MyVegas. Then we would head to the Eastside Cannery. Took the 104 bus up to Tropicana, then caught the 202 down to Bellagio. We are pretty good at the buses, and that is usually the way we travel. Got to Bellagio, and after some wandering finally found the MLife booth. Got the lunch buffet ticket and the line pass. It’s still early, so we’ll be back to eat later. We then went over to The Linq to do a bit of shopping and also looked at the new shops in front of Bally’s. The shops at Bally’s were only half filled. It looks like it will be a few more months before the whole thing is filled. The shops were very small—more like an upscale flea market size. They had a lot of good food offerings, but we were on the way to the buffet. Maybe another trip.
Arrived back at Bellagio, and the line to get in was HUGE! So glad we had the line pass. Walked right in. We had a buy one get one buffet and it was then I realized we paid at 10:59 (not at all intentionally), so paid the breakfast rate. That just thrilled me for some odd reason. I enjoyed the buffet, it was very good, but I think I still prefer the Wicked Spoon. Left the buffet stuffed and caught the 202 to the Cannery. We have gone there a few times, and we really like that they have different poker games. They have a game called Aces and Deuces. This game is made for me! 4 Aces or Deuces pays $200, and if you get the kicker, it pays even more. If you get a normal quad, but have an ace or deuce as the fifth card, it pays a huge bonus. I played it last year, but never hit anything. I had not even gotten my money in and my husband hits quad Kings. Then he hits the deuces (no kicker). Then he hits 4 threes with a deuce. All this in about 5 minutes. I was thrilled, but ticked because I was hitting nothing. I wanted to come out here to play this game, and he’s the one hitting everything! He cashes out his winnings and goes to play Quick Quads Wheel Poker, one of his faves. He got 5 quick quads on that. I found another bank of the Aces Deuces machine and FINALLY hit the deuces! Then we found this crazy game called “Look Ahead Poker”. It deals you the hand, then shows you what the next card will be. So you have to make some decisions on what to do. It was a fun game, but you have to really concentrate. They also have “Look Ahead Plus”, or something like that. There, you can choose to keep or discard the 6th card. Even more concentration needed, but more fun. We were finally done because I wanted to walk to Sam’s Town. I had read in another report that someone found Pay the Aces there. We used the Boyd Slot Locater, and it said there were a few of these games for nickels at Sam’s Town. We needed some help finding them, but they had 3 old machines. We played for a bit, but I had the same luck as downtown, so we left. Caught a VERY slow 202 back (we got passed by two other 202’s!) and played a bit more in the Gold Coast and Palms. Used our match play coupons, and lost at the Palms, as usual, but won at Gold Coast. Headed back to the Orleans for the evening.
We were still stuffed from the buffet, so we ended up eating Fuddruckers’s burgers at 10:00. This was not the trip for any memorable meals. But we are still mourning the loss of two of our faves, the Pasta Pirate and The Flame.
Played some more until we could not stay awake any longer. This was our last day, but we crammed in a lot.
