Since our flight doesn’t leave until 12:20, we have some time. Started at Dream Card, but no deuces. Move to the bar and play DDBP and all I get are twos! About that time I get a text from my husband—“come to dream card NOW”. I do, and admire his dealt dream card deuces. Then he tells me he had another set of them just 2 hands ago. He had 4 two’s 4 times in 3 hands (he was playing the Triple Play version)! We head to breakfast. We usually do the buffet so we are full for the flight. After breakfast we play more Deuces Bonus, and I don’t hit any deuces. So I switch to DDBP and hit the deuces. But it pays $200 so that is OK with me. I have now had deuces four days in a row. A personal best! Just then we get a text that our flight is delayed an hour. The weather in the Midwest is horrible, and when I called home to check in on everyone, they report horrible thunderstorms overnight.
But this is OK, as we have another hour at the Orleans. My husband continues to hit quads, and is racking up the money. I am doing OK too. Eventually we head to the airport, and the flight is delayed another hour. Yeah, more time to play! I am playing DDBP and hit fives, and when I played deuces I kept hitting wild royals and 5 of a kinds, so still doing well. While I am out wandering my husband hits a bonus quad on DDBP. You guessed it, deuces. Normally this would upset me, but not this trip. He hits 2 more sets of quads, and carries two crisp, $100 bills onto the plane. And everyone says not to play at the airport... Eventually we have to stop playing and board the plane. It is two hours late, but the trip is pretty smooth, considering the weather. Ended up having to fly directly over the tornado that tore through Illinois. They took us up to 39,000 feet and we still didn’t get over the clouds, but it wasn’t very rough up that high. When we finally do land in Detroit it is raining like crazy. We get home to Toledo and discover we just missed another tornado that was in the Toledo area, about 10 miles from the house. Luckily it did no damage.
Exhausted we get home, happy but tired. Another great Vegas trip is over.
