from the gates of hades, sans foto

Had four LV nites last weekend, including 2 i pricelined at suncoast, then one at the plaza soft opening, finishiing back at suncoast (the original reservation made, and the reason I pricelined thurs/friday in summerlin).

I tried before to post fotos. I read the instructions teechur put up for people who can read and write. I explained to the kids before kinnygarten "daddy wounna hadda gode to pris'dn if he'd'a learnt to read'n'write". I may try again. I will give vivid word images of the two hand that matter.

Susncoast came in at 44 per night on thursday and friday, I am aware the southpoint email-er gets you 42 or lower for a weekday, but i was satisfied. The Video poker treated me horribly. I'm not saying I've never been hosed before. I'm just saying I should have known better to use my whole hundy per day loss limit at 25c bonus poker. So I got good sleep the first nite, and went down town early friday to see my new plaza.

'S OK. I learned on these pages to not fall in love with the upholstery. The video poker was mostly offline during the whole weekend. The crap tables@$5 had some guys reliving their youth, which I watched with some interest as linda cashed a TITO. The notable presence of full pay JOB was reported in vpfree within minutes of the doors opening, all three of the uprights. They were busy most of the time while I was downtown. The fact they opened with construction still in progress will bug some, not me, and the tracked gypsum and sawdust will hopefully not mar the carpet permanently. The parking garage has a sign you must pay, sometimes? The elevator to park, broke.

So I flailed around without making any progress on my bankroll, and the bounceback at 4Q went quick. Most of my play at 25c JOB recently has been at LVC, hoping to yield plaza rooms comps (didn't work) or the 9/6 way in back at binions. Swell concept, binions has good grub for few comp dollars alright, but it wasn't until vpfree wrote back to me that i find those uprights are short on the royal! If only daddy could read'n'write.

Lucky linda was nice enough to help this ol' man out with a meal saturday night, and i went back to the plaza. Horrified to see two of the three JOB I would play were now out of order. That aint cool. But the room was soothing, the tubs do drain, the beds are top notch, and yes, anthony, the desk chair is leather. I have been in nice rooms, all over, and these furnishings are notable. How a good dresser drawer shuts slower at the close, to lessen the slam factor...check. Though I wonder at the wisdom of glass topped tables in a drinking kinda town...check. That there are still some bugs being worked out...natch.

Two minutes into the next morning, I get the trip's big hand, and you know what I'm saying. TITO, nobody to tip if I'd tried, and only one machine in the place offering the game I play. Feeling somewhat justified about not limping to LVC's slant tops (no RF in a dozen hours of grinding), I saunter to the room but cant luck up my new friends the benjamins. Bugs, shmugs, I'll just have dupars 'cakes, which were spectacular. Though it's an article of faith not to give anything back once a trip hands me one large, I stroll into LVC, putting one fin into an upright, and hit dealt dueces in 5 minutes. You're not going to find the denom amusing. That concluded my gambling downtown.

Finished the trip at suncoast on a comp. Had a good trip and much satisfaction about the royal. I should be nicer when I invite folks to a meet. Inviting 'fools' wasn't well received. Good luck to all!
Appreciate the review on the Plaza. Sounds like you had a fun time. Congrats on hitting dueces and for the TITO.
Thanks for sharing,
Thanks for the TR! Congrats on the nice wins! Nice to win at the last minute to take it home!
Thanks, jmradford, for the Trip Report and as for playing at Las Vegas Club to get comps at Plaza, I'm sure that you would have to play a lot more at Las Vegas Club to make up for the higher end status (now) at Plaza.

I was recently sent an offer through the snail-mail that is good for a minimum two-night stay by September 30th for Two Free Nights (Sunday Through Thursday) Plus $20 in Freeplay at Las Vegas Club or I could "Upgrade to a New Plaza room for only $25 a night" (plus I think that on top of that I probably would have to pay the 13% room tax as well) to stay there.

And so I think that it will require more play than you would have to give to Las Vegas Club one way or another to get comps out of Plaza!

Now as for playing all of your money on 8/5 Bonus, I really can't recommend that because the overall return for that game is about 99.1% and so unless you thought that the comps that you could get from the place were enough for you to make up for that Nine-tenths of a percent casino advantage that you are facing, then that game is not really necessarily worth playing.

As for Royals, please do remember that they should be happening (at least with 9/6 Jacks Or Better) on average about once in about 40,400 hands and so to not have a Royal Flush in 12 hours of play is actually quite likely to happen.

As for the parking at Plaza, at least according to my host Emily, she said that if you play some at Plaza (but I don't know how much -- but it probably doesn't have to be much), if you get a hold of a casino staff person and they can see that you played (with your Slot Club card tracking your play), then they could validate your parking ticket and then you supposedly could take that ticket to the casino cashier to get your money back! Or, if you're staying as a hotel guest there, you're also supposed to get your money back.

And congratulations on your TITO hit at Plaza as well as your 5 Deuces -- it doesn't matter the denomination.

thanks for all the feedback. I dont know when the 40000th hand is gonna come around, recc'y. I know that nine tenths percent ate my bankroll at suncoast and I wont make that error again. Lisa-i wasnt in laughlin, no matter what the fbi says. Good luck!

Well that is an average overall which means that you may get them as often as that, more often or less often.

But hopefully in the meantime you can get enough other good hands or some good enough Slot Club benefits to help make up for some of that since a Royal Flush on at least 9/6 Jacks comprises about 2% of the game's overall return!
