Fun Trip Vegas and Laughlin

Flew to Vegas out of Tulsa on Southwest. We are so tired of Allegiant and the mechanical issues. We got there with friends Sunday April 17 and stayed at Main Street Downtown for the week. Sunday night we ate at the 777 great food and beer. Played JOB at the bar for a couple of hours, two 4 of a kinds and the crap table was cold. Monday was about the same with no big hits, using matchplays and freeplays. Tuesday morning Manny was back making Omelets at Main Street buffet. Tuesday was the day we went out on the Strip to TI first, did well on slots there with a couple of $150 hits, the girls did well also. Went to Harrah's and also ate Lunch at Guy Fieri's next door, the hamburgers were huge and so was the price. We ended up at the Mirage because we had tickets to Terry Fator, great show and good seats. Ended up riding the bus all day and back downtown. Won at Video Poker and Craps.
Wednesday we ate the buffet at Golden Nugget and picked up a rental car from Hertz at the Nugget. Cost about $80 with taxes and we took the 90 minute drive to Laughlin. We haven't been there in years and went with a couple who had never been there. Started at Harrah's and worked back to the North. Harrah's was hot and one of our ladies hit a penny machine for $500. We went to the River Lodge(Yuck)Went to the Golden Nugget and played at the craps with my buddy, young lady threw hardways for a half an hour(Whew) made about $300. Ate at the Mexican Restaurant as you enter Strip row, it was good but house Margaritas were $9 each. Went over the walkway to Don Laughlin's, played craps and hit 5 as a point, 5 times in a row..Wow up $300. (They had a board with cushion separating half of the table, easy throw). Ended up at Edgewater and did well there also hitting 4 A's on a quarter machine which payed $200, video poker. Drove back to Golden Nugget, after topping off the tank. Did get gas across the river in Bullhead city for a $1.83, Vegas was $2.39. Fun but car was expensive.
Thursday was a great day, ate Breakfast at Main Street. went to The Grand and did well, wife won 179 off her free play. Kind of empty inside. Worked our way down to El Cortez and played for 3 or 4 hours and broke even. Played single deck. Went back to Binions on the way back and had a good run on the crap table, guy threw 30 times. We ate at Tony Romo's and had steak and lobster. Friday ate breakfast at Main Street and said goodbye to Manny. Played the crap table and a guy threw 40 times made $200,I got greedy. Played at the bar 9/6 and got two quads..Went to airport for a 2:30 flight. All in all good trip. We may look at different transportation options for Laughlin next time we go...We brought back 1/3 of our money and had fun..

Very nice, PostalRock, thanks for that report and good going on the nice gaming wins!

There is a Free or very low cost Laughlin day trip through one of the Tour Companies (Sightseeing Tours Unlimited) that advertises in "LVM" (which is Las Vegas Magazine), so check that out. The website's address is: https://www.lasvegasmagazine.com and Sightseeing Tours Unlimited can be called at 702-368-7062. Reservation Times are 5AM-11PM (Las Vegas Time) 7 Days a Week.

The ad for this is currently on Pp. 66-67 of the current issue of Las Vegas Magazine, so check that out!
Thanks RecVPPlayer. Next time we go we will check that out.. Looked up the site and its only 6 hours of gambling. I"ll call sightseeing Tours also. I've been looking for Air options but Bullhead City doesn't seem to have any.
Thanks for the report, enjoyed it

You're very welcome! Might taking a Greyhound Bus to Laughlin (if one goes there) be another option for you? The bus station in LV is right next door to Plaza Casino/Hotel (to the left of it when facing the entrance to Plaza) on Main Street in Downtown. So you can look into that!

Did you get the Scratch Cards for the Quads? If so, how much additional $ did those give you?
I scratched one for $3.00 the rest were for the usual $2.00. We used 11 coupons out of the LVA. Love the $25.00 matchplays, came out ahead on those.

Very good! I understand that the Scratch Cards add on about another 0.40% to the game's return.

And I love the LVA Coupons (especially the gaming ones including all of the Matchplays). I try to use as many of them as I can depending on where I'm going (although I also have made some special trips in the past to go after some of them).

I hope you're successful on your search for alternate Laughlin transportation!

Great report thanks for posting
