I haven't posted any TR's in awhile, so I thought I'd share a little since I've been enjoying others.
I went to Presque Isle for the first time on Saturday, Dec 4th. My daughter and her boyfriend and his Mom have been asking me to go with them for awhile. I said I didn't really want to go cause of their INFERIOR poker. Ok, so boyfriend gets invite to go from his house in Lakewood OH to Erie PA (almost 2 hr trip) in a limo as well as overnight stay. Ok, do I want to go? Sure, why not? So 5 of us (Joe, his Mom, Connie, his Aunt (Emm), Shelley (my daughter) and I decide to go on this adventure.
We left Lakewood in the limo around 5:00pm. Ok, I made a few calls on the way, lol. We played some music. We arrived at a Courtside Marriott around 7:00 to drop off our luggage and check in to the hotel. The Limo driver waited for us and then took us to Presque Isle Downs & Casino. We arrived at the casino and met Joe's host. He took us to the high limit area to get me a player's card and we each got 2 free drink coupons. Joe & Shelley got a $150 comp to a restaurant and Connie, Auntie Emm and I headed to the Race area to have some dinner. We sat at the bar and had a nice meal and watched some of the St Ed's football playoff game as Auntie Emm had grandkids that go there.
After dinner, we all proceeded to go on our separate ways to play our games of choice. I went by the player's club where they had some Game Maker's according to VP Free. I never saw them and it was a smoking area, so I decided to try some machines in a non- smoking area. This was around 8:15. I played some deuces (ugly, ugly deuces). I was playing quarters. I switched for awhile to BP and got some quads and then went back again to deuces. The lady next to me got 2 sets of deuces in short time. I wasn't doing too well, but then started getting better. Hubby called around 10:30 to see how I was doing. While I was talking to him and playing, I went way down. I had $80 in and was nearing the end. I continued to play and finally got the deuces. I called hubby and then continued to play. My companions stopped by occasionally to see how I was doing and let me know how they were doing. I text my daughter to tell her about my deuces and Joe stopped by to tell me he had 3 2's. He plays 3-card poker so he did way better than me. He always tells me that I don't make much playing VP compared to his payoffs on 3-card poker. We're talking llow stakes verses high stakes.
Ok, I think this is gonna be ok. I only hoped I could enjoy the day and go home without losing my shirt lol. Joe stopped by somewhere around 2:00 to see what I wanted to do. I said that I didn't care and would go when they were ready. Joe was doing pretty well as he hit a SF. When Joe is doing well, he doesn't want to leave. I didn't think they wanted to take us back individually. I kept thinking to myself that this lady next to me hit the deuces, actually ,another making 3 and a guy a few seats away was hitting lots of quads, but nobody had a royal, so maybe I should get one, lol. So I kept playing and then about 2:40, I was dealt Q,K.J & A spades and drew the 10. for a RF on those INFERIOR poker machines lol. My daughter was playing slots and text me that she hit 3 diamonds somewhere along the line on a multi-line machine.
My daughter finally came around and said that we had to get going. The weather was getting pretty ugly and we had to go in a shuttle to get back to the hotel. In my records, this was 3:25 and I cashed out $1205. We headed to the door and waited while they were warming up a shuttle van to take us back.
The next morning, err shortly, we were getting our limo back to the casino at 11:00 a.m. Somehow us old girls got up, ready and went to a breakfast buffet and made it to the limo by 11:00. The limo driver informed us that he was supposed to take us back to the hotel last night, err morning, but got detained because of weather in Pittsburgh. We were able to leave our bags and coats in the limo as it was going nowhere until our trip back to Lakewood at 3:00pm.
I played a machine for about 25 min. and lost $80 and then proceeded to go to a bar to play VP and watch some of the Brown's game. I played for 2 hours and lost $50 while watching the game. It was kinda nice being in PA and being waited on by a couple of girls wearing Steeler jerseys while watching the Browns. I do believe that this was the last game that the Brown's won for the season lol. The guy next to me lived very close to where I live. It was all fun!
We all stopped by at the quickie food place and used our meager comps to get some pizza's etc. for the trip home. The weather was getting a little ugly, but the trip home was nice. At some point we were able to get the end of the game on the radio to enjoy the win against Miami. We stopped somewhere on the way and said where r we? OHIO, yey! I bought a few cash explosion tickets which were all losers lol!
I had about a 40 minute trip to drive home to Vermilion, but it was all good and I was tired.
