Girl's Trip

Let me just start out by saying we had a GREAT TRIP! Traverlers are: 2 veteran LV travelers and 1 newbe

Day 1 - Left EWR 10/15 arrived in LV approx. 5:00 pm - Picked up car at Payless - no problem -
Checked into Orleans - had a very nice room - very comfortable - We always rent a car - so the Orleans is the ideal casino to stay at - very easy to get around and always get rooms at good price or for free - I received 2 days comp and did not get charged for resort fees or taxes for the 2 days.
We had dinner at the Orleans buffet - with Connections card the price for dinner is $14.99.
We just stayed at the Orleans the rest of the nite.

Day 2 (Thursday) - Went to Palms 24/7 coffee shop and used the 50% off coupon from LVA - had a very nice breakfast and also got some breakfast pastry to go (to use the next morning). Played some slots and won about $100.
which was very nice.
After leaving the Palms we valet parked at the Trop and then went over to Excalibur and took the tram to
Mandalay Bay and on the way back stopped at the Luxor. We went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay ( it was ok).
Then back to Orleans.

Dinner was at Fellini's at the Stratosphere - Service and Food - Very Good - So are the prices.
Then after dinner we went to Gilley's (Treasure Island) for drinking and dancing - the band was very good.
Also on Thursday no cover if you get there before 10pm - it's also ladies nite - so drinks until 10 pm are $1. for the girls

Day 3 (Friday)

Had coffee and breakfast pastry in room and then off to the Neon Museum - The tour was very interesting and it was fun seeing the old signs .
United is handing out Cosmopolitan giveaways - We were able to use the 2 for 1 brunch (which is really outstanding)...I could not use the $25 in free play because I used one in February - The 2 for 1 buffet you
can use as many times as they hand them out -
Then after the cosmo we went back to the Orleans (as we have tickets for a show)
Friday Nite - Parked at the Trop and went over to MGM for Zac Brown Concert - OUTSTANDING - We love
Zac Brown Band and saw them this past July in NJ - This is the main reason we booked LV Trip. No problem waiting to pick up car after show -
Then we went to Ellis Island for 2 for 1 in café (LVA coupon) - food is very good and reasonable .

Day 4 (Saturday ) - Went to Silverton for Brunch(we used 2 for 1 coupon, and also had extra coupon for 50% off for single person) - we paid $9.00 each for a really good brunch with champagne.
I received $10 in free play for bringing new person to sign up for their card - I turned that $10 into $50.00
playing enchanted forest slot.
Then we went over to Boulder Highway and played roulette at Joker's wild - did not win at roulette - but went over to penny slot (penguin) and won $108.00 on 20 cent bet...
Then over to Sam's town and won at Blackjack.
Then back to Orleans - Happy Hour at the Mexican restaurant $1 Frozen Margaritas.
Sat nite we went to the Redwood Grill- We could not park in valet or garage - they were only allowing hotel guests to use their parking facilities. We had to park at Main St. Station - was not very happy about this.
Anyway the food and service was very good - 2 of our group had the Porterhouse special - which includes soup or salad, potatoe , veg and desert for $24 - they said it was excellent -I had the Tuna which was excellent.
We played at the Cal and Main Street for a while - also you have to pay $5 to park - but then you are reimbursed at the casino cage.
We then took the car over to the Fremont - they were turning people away - but we were really lucky to have a nice attendant and we were allowed to park there.
Played at GN, Four Queens, Fremont and then saw Fremont Experience.
We had a very nice nite.

Sunday Day 5 - We had another 50% off coupon at the Palms so we went to the Palms Champagne Brunch - very good especially when you are paying 1/2 off - thank you LVA.
Played there broke even - then off to the Gold Coast for Blackjack - won there and then we went to
Circus Circus - the new person was never there /
Back to Orleans and Happy Hour.
Sunday nite we had ticked for the Winter Dance party at Southpoint - This show is about Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valenz and The Big Bopper's last concert - It was very good and the tickets were only $20 - there is no need to get higher priced tickets at the Southpoint's showroom - as it is small an the table seats in the back are really close and you have a great view.
Only disappointment - was the coffee shop at Southpoint - we just ordered breakfast and it was not good - we
should have went to Steak and Shake.
But - I did win at Blackjack.

Monday Day 6 - Had Breakfast at Orleans coffee shop - very good - then we went to the Wynn, Venetian, Pallazzo.
Monday nite -went downtown - had dinner at Magnolia's (very good at usual) - used 2 for 1 LVA coupon.
Watched Fremont Experience from deck at the D - played at all the casinos and danced in street to a good county band.

Tuesday - We are leaving for airport at 11:30 am - We had breakfast at the buffet at the Orleans and then still had time to play - I won at blackjack - We all had a really good time and I came home with Money - so that
makes it a real good trip.

Can't wait to go back......Thanks for reading this. L.

Thanks for the nice report, lvtravel! That's great that you did good gaming wise and that you made good use of coupons and did some nice things!

So what did the Newbie think of LV? Will she be returning?

RecVPPlayer
Nice report, you had a good time and came home with money Thanks
The porterhouse special at Redwood is something I highly recommend.

Thanks .....Newbie did like LV - doesn't gamble much...so don't know if she will come back......I know I'll be back soon and this time will spend more time relaxing and playing.
Thanks for the informative report.

Nice to see another LVA'er getting bang for their buck.

Being shaken down to park downtown seems counterproductive. It puts them at a competitive disadvantage. The reason people go there is because things are less expensive, so I'm not sure why they think charging for parking is a good idea when you can park at every other casino/resort in LV for free.

Nice job getting around town with the coupons.

ST
thanks ST - I know about the parking - We were running late with our dinner reservation and my friend had to get out of the car to let the Redwood know that are party would be there in a few minutes -
We were not allowed to park in the Cal's parking garage - so we had to go to the ground parking lot of Main Street Station and pay $5 - (which we were reimbursed for at the Cal) -
but what a pain.......I said to them that AC charges for parking too.......

But we did make good use of the coupons (we always do) - If I want to spend a lot a money on a meal - I can do it at home - I live very close to Manhattan - but a big part of our fun in LV is using the coupons and seeing how well we can eat for very little - besides....more money for gambling and shows.
