OK I always think I am going to do a trip report and then chicken out........it's never really exciting. To me ALWAYS but to others, maybe not. But I do have a few thoughts I would like to share.
We have been very fortunate this year and this was our 3 rd trip this year. Last week, 5 nights, celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. We finally bought a new car after years of deliberation, and thought that we would take it for a spin. Then 2 weeks ago Hubby got laid off. Never fails. Buy a car, lose a job. What to do? Go to Vegas anyway. Not sitting here and moping. Even left on a Saturday...why are we sitting here? Let's go. Saturday night at the Strat. And 4 nights at the Hilton, taking advantage of an offer....4 nights for $139.00
Uneventful drive, and great gas milage with the Honda CRV SUV. Still a good 5 hour drive from Phoenix. None of that agonizing traffic going over Hoover Dam anymore. Got to the Strat, and the last thing I want to do is self-park and schlep suitcases to check-in. Making dear Hubby step out of his comfort zone and use valet at least once during the trip. Worth it to me. Long line to check in, but fast and very organized. Got a remodeled room on the 23rd floor with a view of downtown. I think the remodeled rooms are very nice. Good color scheme, very nice linens, comfy beds, tub is huge, everything clean. Flat screen TV and a metal ice bucket. Not just some old plastic tub. I think we would stay there again. $50 something for a Sat night. Enjoyed the casino, played Hangover slots for a long time on our $20.00. They are very entertaining and I love tazing Alan bonus round.
We spent most of the evening at the Mirage. Packed. Used LVA coupon for the buffet. Very good. Crab legs cold, prime rib delish!! As we strolled around, Hubby spotted 2 women at the Revolution bar with implants the size of basketballs or larger. He took pictures of them while I was in the Ladies Room. I would post it here, but it would be in poor taste! But these gals loved the attention and they got a lot of it. There was a large group of men milling around the Revolution Bar.....eyes huge and mouths open.
Went back to the Strat, more brews, a few more games. Then bed. Long day! Not too much to report on gambling as we are low rollers and enjoy everything else Vegas has to offer. More later!!
