This trip was planned around a Wakesurfing event at the Lake Las Vegas Hilton and also a check on our two rentals in Seven Hills Henderson. We arrived from Seattle thursday Sept 26 in the late afternoon. Flight via Alaska Air was quick and easy although no upgrade to first class. Once again they didn't have any decent snacks on board to buy and claimed they were out of most of the various snacks for purchase.
Arrived and went to Alamo for our mid size car. $20 later I had a Mini Van with all the options and we headed to Green Valley Ranch for one night. Upon arrival the clerk couldn't find us a room in the East Tower (right next to the casino) so he said he would give us the "Tuscany Suite". Normally this is just a little nicer room but this time it was different. When we arrived it was a 2,000 square foot 1.5 bath Suite! It had a wet bar, dining table for 8 and a great Master bed and bath. By far one of the biggest rooms I have stayed in and I didn't even have to do the $20 trick.
Headed off to the casino and began playing the $1 9/6 Jacks or Better. Held 4 to a Royal in Hearts and got the Queen of Hearts to appear! Got paid in short order and continued playing. About 1 hour later switched to Double Double Bonus $1 on the same machine and held two Aces. Hit draw and got 2 more Aces and a duece for another hand pay W-2G. Needless to say I was very happy and decided not to press my luck and went to bed which was very comfortable.
The next morning we checked out and went to the Lake Las Vegas Hilton for the Surfing Competition. This lasted all day right out front of the hotel and was a blast to watch. I did check out the Casino Montelago but they had such poor Video Poker paytables even at the Dollar level we didn't spend one dime there. Casino was empty both day and early evening not sure how they are going to make it.
We went back and played at the Green Valley Ranch hoping lightning would strike again but it didn't and I gave some of previous night's win back but not a lot.
On Sat checked out of the Lake LV Hilton and checked into Mandalay Bay a regular King Size Room. We asked for and received the 17th floor pool side view. We choose this as this is the first floor the elevator stops at. I also went to the Bank and deposited my previous night's winnings.
We ate at Raffles cafe in the Mandalay Bay multiple times during our trip for breakfast and lunch which was always good. We had a $200 resort credit and I make sure I spent every penny.
I played a little short pay Airport Dueces 44 .25cent level at Mandalay but won nothing.
We ate a Hussong's Mexican at Mandalay for an afternoon snack and the tortilla soup was great. Ask for the white cheese sauce ($3 ) to make it complete.
Sat Night we played at the M Resort using our $25 free play on the $1 Aces Bonus Poker. I ended up winning about $400 when I switched to $1 Double Double Bonus and hit a four of a kind.
On Sunday evening we went and played at the Palms to keep our points current. My wife played the one and two cent 9/6 JOB 50play but was unable to do much and broke about even. I went into the high limit room and played the $1 8/5 Bonus Poker and some $1 9/6 Double Double Bonus. I ended up also treading water and broke even but had a ton of Sugar Free Red Bull.
We headed back home Monday morning and as usual I was already trying to figure out how to get back to Vegas.
Hopefully we can go sometime in the middle of November. Of note was we had a $200 food credit and we went over it by $23 or so which we paid cash for at check out. About a week later got a Visa charge for $34 from MGM resorts. Apparently Hussong's charged us twice for the same meal! It wasn't that good...Called in to Accts Receivable but still haven't gotten a credit. Hopefully we will.
Oh almost forgot, went to the two rental houses in Seven Hills and everything checked out ok.
