Rincon is a California Indian casino managed by Harrahs. It's located in Northern San Diego county about 20 miles on a windy road from the I15 freeway. We live in the San Fernando Valley and take the 101, 134 east, 210 east, 57 south, 71 south, 91 east, 15 south to 76 east. On 76 you pass Pala casino and later turn right onto S6 which will pass by Pauma casino and eventually to Rincon. If you kept going on S6 you'd get to Valley View casino which sits on the left at the top of a hill(there's a few signs to guide you).
Note: we usually stop at the Pala gas station to fill up so we don't have to stop on the way home. Gas is usually a few cents less at Pala, Rincon now has a Shell gas station, but I haven't paid attention to the price. Both Pala and Rincon have mini marts. Pala's has a Subway so we sometimes pick up a breakfast sandwich when we don't want to waste casino time eating at Rincon's cafe when we arrive.
Arrived at Rincon at 7:30am, checked in with no problem, Krystal is our early morning Saturday person. Although I'd made the reservation a couple of months ago, I wasn't sure how busy the hotel would be as Lil Jon was the scheduled guest DJ for their new club/pool "The Dive" Saturdays the pool area is only open to those over 21. Our room 786 in the Spa tower was now the "last room" at the far end of the hallway as those that used to exist are now closed off for the ongoing construction of the new tower. Room was ok, clean except for a stain in the carpet. Scenic view of roof covering casino, the under construction new parking garage(?), road S6 and the mountain on the other side of the valley.
Got into the casino and surprise they'd moved at least 80% of the slots and video poker machines to new locations. Had to hunt for my favorite machines. I knew the number of my fav VP machine and after checking every Vp machine in the casino, couldn't find it. I went searching for my hubby and found him sitting at a 3/5 play machine so I sat next to him and started playing a single line machine. It sure was like my fav, but the number was 2509 and my fav had been numbered 1509. I like it because as a JoB BP player it is fairly generous with 2 pairs so my money lasts and it throws in some 4 oak(I'm still waiting for the RF). Hopefully it will stay there a while. The no-smoking area has been moved to the area that used to be the original front of the casino by the Garden Tower door by the high limit area. The tournament area is now across from the Total Rewards alcove. A few table games relocated across from the cashier along the walkway that runs from the garage elevators to hotel registration.
