Heading to Vegas 2/21 -22/23

Heading to LV for son's 22 Bday and Westgate slot tourney.  Comped rooms, $450 in FP and $100 dining credits between wife and I.   Will also be hitting the Tuscany for some FP and the Sahara for FP and dining credits.  Hopefully get some time downtown for a coupon run as well.

It's the time to go to Vegas, as there's no reason to believe that hotel, travel, and dining prices will be immune to Trumpflation. Though there may be a counterbalancing effect, as millions of people decide that they can no longer afford a Vegas vacation.

And before somebody bleats that I'm being "political," I hasten to add that I'm not. I'm simply observing...it is what it is and will be. Consumer prices are certain to skyrocket. That will create a massive recession in conjunction with...you know the consequences.

The only frame of reference we have is the Dubya recession. For about six months in 2008, Vegas was total Bargain City. Didn't last long, though. This time, I wonder how the casino megatoilets will react to being half full on a summer weekend. What's their % of capacity breakeven point?

One thing that LVA might be able to help all of us with is how to jump on whatever bargains surface as a result of the coming recession...though they might consider the very thought as too "political."

Thanks Brent.  So far down some, but hopefully we have profitable evening and a good turn out in the slot tourney.

2/20- Got into town about 6:30 last night. Standard room, comped. My wife got the king bed for us and I got the 2 queen beds for my son and his buddies.  They got to the Westgate about an hour before us,  so they played some slots while waiting.   The next time we saw them, they were playing blackjack for $15 minimum.

Wife and I played our FP with me crapping out on dollar DDB, and wife playing various slots.  She ended up down a couple hundred for the evening,  and I was down a hundred playing DDB at the bar by registration while listening to a 80s and 90s cover band.  They were entertaining and drinks were flowing.  Did get to wish my son happy birthday before his crew headed to the strip, just after midnight.  Hit the room for shuteye around 1am, both down for the day,  but feeling no pain.

2/21- Friday.  Woke up around 7am, but didn't get dressed until about 8, and headed to the Westgate fitness room for a 45 minute workout.  Felt good to sweat out the libations I drank the night before.  Protein shake for breakfast and showered. Left Westgate around 11 for our son's birthday lunch at Olive Garden on Flamingo, next to Huckleberry Hill Restaurant.

After eating we all went to the Tuscany for some gaming and to run through our freeplay.  No luck and played $150 on the Cleopatra Wild Tiles slot game and $50 on DDB at the bar. Son and his buddies played BJ there and one of the guys ended up $80 ahead and the others lost a few bucks.

Headed back to Westgate to relax in the room,  but went to the International Bar, the bar by registration for DDB VP and a few drinks before dinner.  Wife and I started with $20.  By just before 5pm, when we left for dinner at the Asian Road,  the Westgate's Chinese restaurant,  my wife was up $40 and I was up $100.

Dinner was good.  Orange chicken for her and Kung Pao chicken for me. Comes with steamed rice. We also got the chicken fired rice to share.  Paid for it with food comps.

Headed to the slot tournament and I tallied over 1 million points to finish fourth after the opening round.  Winner gets 15K in slot play, and I'm currently in 4th,  which is 3K in FP.

Saw our son and his buddies at the BJ tables and they were all doing well. Wife joined them at the table as I went to the International bar to play VP. Played for a good bit but lost $50.  My wife won $100 at the BJ table.

I took my remaining winnings from VP, and between various slot games managed a $300 profit.  Ended up even for the day,  but down a bit overall.

Around 9 my wife found me and we were in the room by around 10pm.

Tomorrow is breakfast at Marilyn's Cafe at the Tuscany and their gift day.  We also have the last two rounds of the slot tournament tomorrow afternoon.  Another million point round should solidify at least a top 4 finish.

A few additions I forgot to mention earlier.  They are charging $20 for 24 hour parking at valet.   They charge a card,  and not to your room.  We were hoping to get this charge dropped by our host,  but he has no pull on this. Also, the parking fee for the parking garage is not being enforced,  so it's just like at Oyo, pay if you want to.  My son hasn't been charged anything and he has entered and exited multiple times with no issues.

An '80s-'90s cover band combined with some bar offerings and DDB play sounds just great to me.  Really enjoying your TR so far, Edso.  I'm keeping fingers crossed for your final slot tourney rounds.

Best of luck in your tournament.  Sorry I missed you but I won't be there until Tuesday.  Take care
